My Father worked for the Navy as a as an aircraft mechanic for 20 years. 1946 to 1966. Jacksonville was a great place to grow up in Murray Hill, born in westconnet.
Went to AE "A" School 69' -70' in the Marines...BEST DUTY STATION EVER...Summer if 69' was the BEST summer of my life...still had the wooden barracks for Marines and Navy Training Battalions....the E-Club had just been built overlooking the St. John's River...beautiful club...did Marine Corps Birthday Ball there with my girlfriend at the time(she still remembers it 😉)...great memories.
