Written by A.P Beswick, narrated by Aaron Smith & Michaela Schulthies.
Her choice is to serve or die. In the aftermath of shattered innocence, will the hunt for her magic claim her last breath?
Zerina Redfearn is naïve to the world's cruelty. So when she and her sisters are dragged from their home and put on trial for witchcraft, she’s horrified to be trapped between being enslaved in the king’s forces or execution. But after witnessing her siblings' cruel deaths, she unleashes her powers for the first time and makes her escape.
Joining two refugees in fleeing to the perilous ocean with enemy ships in hot pursuit, Zerina wields her gifts against deadly threats even though each use torments her body. And as she pays an agonizing price by aging prematurely, she fears she won’t reach the cure seen in a vision before she perishes.
Can Zerina turn the tide on a crippling future?
A Sea of Sorrow and Scorn is the gripping second book in the Tales of Levanthria fantasy-retelling series. If you like dangerous quests, good girls gone badass, and relentless action, then you’ll love A.P. Beswick’s windswept adventure.

Listened to the first one. Loved it. Listening to them in order. So far they're pretty good. I like the new characters with each story and how they're all connected. I hope they turn this into a tv show. It would be awesome

I know this sounds weird, but the female narrative is not doing it for me. Don't get me wrong, I love the accent. But when she reads, it makes the story drag. The pace seems to show to a crawl. Then, the male reader takes back over, and the story comes alive. 😊

It’s not weird, it’s your opinion! I don’t like her much, either. She’s better than AI though. 👍🏼

Why do people in books and movies always cut their palms by choice? Why not the outside of an arm or something so there wouldn’t be pain every time you have to use your hand?

The pain is to remind you of the commitment made.

thank you for this. These are wonderful books. I always enjoy reading them and they are my favorite kind of genre. (old stories with a twist and retold in better creative ways)

2:00:11 why the book the manipulated man from Esther Vilar comes to my mind at this scene and how his little sister groome and manipulate him and the other girl plays along, but also shows how evaluate different reaction and expression of emotion

Nah not the lady getting immediately jealous/attracted/felt animosity towards the unknown woman because the man she likes slept with her. That's not how irl women work. I'm so disappointed 😢

Great book! It made me care for every character and that’s always a sign of great writing… Just had a few questions, wondering at the end , why didn’t Ulric drink from the fountain? Would’ve he been transformed into the dragon skin creature he too ? If so it would’ve been better than death in the eyes of his sister… and if i understood it correctly, Assara transformed into her brother but she didn’t drink for the fountain, she will grow old fast and die ? Cheers

Beautiful story. Fantastic writer. A true master writer. But the female narrator is horrendous. The male one is the best.

I really enjoyed the first audio book on YT, but the female narrator on this one almost makes me want to stop listening. The male narrator on the other hand is fantastic!!! Maybe this needs to be done in full with just him?
