Fun fact: the original name for the company that produced this droid was S.T.O.R.C. (Surface Transit Orphan Relocation Corp.) before I decided it would be more interesting if the cargo was unknown and it was just a common delivery droid being used for an unusual mission. That's why the logo on the compartment looks like a stork.
Just watched this again with my wife this time. This is what she thinks the story should be for the baby. " Due to the harsh conditions of this new world the mother and father died but the baby survived. And the only living relative, his aunt, who was part of a research team living in a bunker was to care for him." Thought it was pretty cleaver. I bet I laughed again over a dozen times during this episode. I love rewatching your stuff and laughing. Trying to support the best that I can by telling others about your channel. Keep up the good work man can't wait for the next beyond the blight video
And when is the robot got into the Bunker and dropped off the baby it has to be put on to a service rack to be repaired and ready for the harsh conditions of the land for where it's going to go
Late to the party, but I like to think that this is an orphan baby who doesn't seem to be affected by the blight, and researchers in the bunker are going to care for it while also studying its immune system to try and find a possible cure.
Those snow drifts are marvelous! Great job on the diorama and the weathered yellow on the bot. I'm thinking the baby is the bastard son of some noble or monarch that secreted him away to some remote relatives' from safe keeping.
Really struggled with the snow but eventually I think it came out ok! I like the story idea, makes sense as to why it would be smuggled in such an unusual way.
Love getting to see Beyond the Blight growing more and more alongside incredible builds! The more of it I learn, the more I want to know. Awesome stuff!
The Droid Maker retroactively makes this build that much more heartbreaking. To think, this droid is carrying a week old baby across the continent to a bunker, never again to be seen by his father, because the alternative is life under unspeakable tyrant. I do hope there is yet some chance for Tek to see his son again, though after what you did to us with Little Flee, that might not be such a heartwarming reunion… I am very invested in the well-being of this little clay infant
Your videos are so unique, I mean you can take a simple concept and turn it into a full fledged awesome diorama. In my opinion you are up there with Boylei Hobby Time, Studson Studios, and North Of The Border
"I know that babies taste the best..." - Snowpiercer was a very strange film... but I really love this build and I was NOT expecting that as a reveal. Considering the Orange tree I was thinking it was the world's last Tomato or something similar. Great work!
I like the idea that the blight cannot live in the extreme cold. So there are bunkers scattered all over the Arctic region and they spread genetics between them to maintain a stable population by delivering babies. Basically children are married off a few months after their born. There then transported by this robots to there new home with there new family. Well then be raised and given to someone they were already betrothed to to keep inbreeding down between the bunkers. I think it'd also be cold at this was the last group of ordinary humans who are completely unaffected .
Awesome build, definitely love the fact you took an "ordinary" model kit and added your own personal touches, and the coloring just pops. Always great to watch your work. Maybe that child will grow to save the world based on a prophecy, oh wait, that's Harry Potter. Oops. Lol. Awesome work. 👍
With the legs being extended you gave it extra joints so it could be posed to show off those digitigrade legs. Though I don't know how well it could balance or move its feet since the original design was for Plantigrade Edit: As for the story of the delivery. Given what I can guess what the size of the droid based on the door. I imagine it might be a muted newborn that might have gained an immunity to the spores that poison the atmosphere. While most people require respiratory equipment to go outside, this one seems uninhibited.
Unfortunately when I glued the extension segments to the legs, the superglue leaked and locked everything in place so I was a little limited with poses, and it ended up too tall to be on the land so I hacked off the legs at the shins and just glued it to the water/resin. Great story idea!
And prolly why the baby seems to be fine in such a cramp space that I’m sure is designed to be temperature-controlled for a unique package, but doesnt exactly explain how they didn’t starve and still have baby fat in them 🤨
Hey there, I have been considering doing something like this, I'll do some more research on this and see what the best option would be for me. Thanks for reminding me!
to hear you only started what,, a year ago? You feel like you have experience, maybe 2 years + with youtube! I love these, currently watching the whole series while playing a game
I really love your channel, the way you develop the Beyond the Blight worl, and most of all how relatable you are. Your videos make building dioramas seam a lot less intimidating than a lot of other channels💪 (to avoid confusion, I mean this a high compliment😊)
I absolutely take that as a compliment. One of the things I wanted to stress with my videos is how common mistakes are, and how difficult/frustrating/infuriating this hobby can be, but also how a little persistence and creative thinking can turn those mistakes around and result in something worth putting on a shelf... most of the time! Thanks for your comment!
I watched your video about the droid workshop and how the child was sent away by his father with the droid and how when he was of age it would play the father message back to him. And when I watched the final part of this video I thought that was the droid that was sent away by the child's father who was the really special delivery . Long story short-My mind was blown. I love this series.
The package is the first seed of Hope after the blight had destroyed so much. A new beginning of the first one to be immune to the Blight . The machine was tasked with such a great gift because the blight now has started destroying machines. The package is the future salvation of humanity and the redemption of the mechanical past.
Great build. I use frost white grout from home depot for the thick layer of snow if you want to try that. It is easier to buy in a large tub than spend all the time and resorces to make. Great video keep it up.
Great video, I love how you use cheap and ingenious ways of making stuff. It's probably way too late to add this idea (I'm watching all of your videos in order), but what if the child was incubated in the robot from an embryo and now it is ready for delivery? Cool stuff, I'm excited to watch more!
Pro tip I saw from the guy that made the predator costume. Paint a file silver then scrape your model The file will scratch and leave paint in the scratch Totally enjoy your work
I’m gonna say that the bunker is absolutely huge underground and that the workers in that bunker are trained and conditioned from birth to have no aspirations of ever doing anything but their jobs in the bunker, whatever job that may be. Or everything is cake, and that’s not a baby at all, but a custom-made cake that’s the result of a big miscommunication in the order-taking process. Are there any entertainment droids in this universe?
Getting a massive John Carpenters the thing vibe here. Maybe it took the babies place to find more to consume or whatever it is the thing does in the end when it "wins" Love your channel man.
it makes sense for a delivery vehicle, or droid in this case, to be lorg. larger cargo makes it cheaper to ship to remote places, like where that infant is being sent to
Do lots of different mixture ratios and see what you like best. One thing to keep in mind is that the more sandy mixture ends up being more brittle and more ice-like, while more powder makes it smoother and stronger, but a little harder to work with.
Originally it was actually going to look even more similar, with a little window in the container and a tiny light inside, but I thought it made more sense that the "package" would be hidden and unseen, and it made for a fun tease in the video intro! Thanks!
Hi there u made feel cold watching u do that snow but u did a great job on it and for the baby the robot was picked as it didn't feel the cold and if a human took the baby they would freeze to death. X
My sister and I came up with this: "Nearly a century after the beginning of this new world, a blizzard struck, claiming the lives of all but this infant, whose parents had placed him, thoroughly swaddled, inside an incubator in the furnace room, where he safely slept throughout the storm. When the hospital eventually lost power, a maintenance robot was deployed from a long dormant service warehouse, tasked with restoring power to the hospital. While attempting to fix it, his audio receptors detected a sound alien to his world of gizmos, and he discovered the baby hidden away in the recesses of the building with the furnace. Perplexed but determined, he scoops the little guy up and begins to care for him as his own, tucking the baby, (who he possibly names Gizmo,) amongst his warmest electrodes, modifying his own body to better support the infant. He then does some research and finds the last known habitation suitable for humans, but it's far off, across the land. This diorama could be them finally finding this promised land, on the cusp of a hopeful home." Could be the beginning of a series chronicling the adventures of these two. Or maybe the robot has to get the baby back to his parents, maybe they're aren't dead just separated? By the way, there's this really cool music video for a song called snowbank blues by the backseat lovers, which I bet everyone on this thread would really like. Thanks for the videos! My sis loves them too!
Awww… the Secret Package! - * -Spoilers- * - Tasked with such a… /unique/ delivery…* . . . . . . . It’s the baby-(probably) from the cyber-lab workshop build (I saw) earlier! *”unique delivery” in more ways than one! (Special sense of the word) 15:00
A bit late but: The baby is a changeling. The brave but cruel warrior and officer had married far above his standing, his wife was the daughter of a high-up manager in the corporation. But she had the audacity to die during childbirth, and on top of it she gave birth to a girl with a deformed hand. The warrior was furious, he needed a child by this woman to keep his standing with his father-in-law, but he did not want anything to do with what he considered weakness. The warrior thought it natural that all things belonging to his soldiers belonged to him, and that the best baby in the garrison should be his son. He commanded a droid to go to the island where the wives of his soldiers camped for the winter and take the strongest baby boy back to the warm bunker. The droid left behind a terrified new mother, crying as she nursed the strange, rejected baby under heavy heaps of blankets. Little did this brave, cruel warrior know that he would have been better off having no child at all. Much better.
Great Build. I disagree with the fingerprint comment. This is great art. This may sound morbid, but I'm wondering if your droid is a mechanical stork or food delivery.
The blight isn't necessarily lethal, but it does cause genetic mutations and birth defects. Check out the Junk Tower build video for details on why the Blight is feared by the people of Aegis.
@@gameyybuilds @gameyy builds I saw it actually! Late at night when I was sleepy tho lol. I'll definetly give it a re-watch I love the lore and I'm extremely motivated to start posting dioramas as well thanks to you! You deserve more attention on your vids they are stunning and you say you are fairly new to the hobby keep it up man you are doing great I'm excited for your future videos🙌🏼!
@@gameyybuilds You’re stories are wonderful, and the way you tie together your world building with your models is incredible. I wish to someday be able to write stories like yours.
One trick for painting yellow is to change your base color first. It can take far fewer coats overall to get a good looking yellow if you start with even a somewhat patchy beige or pink.
First time I’ve ever seen anything related to Project Obsolete on RU-vid and it’s an exoframe model being butchered. Nice work you did with it, though.
Because it is me last baby in existence this is in 37 162 the baby is Last Hope to humankind on the top of Earth the light has killed every other human that including the ones Underground they thought they were so safe but the blind reach them by a top carrier
