I live in a dryer area and can definitely vouch; unless on an incense, it’s raining or under a rain or glacial lure module, water type spawns are very scarce.

ive had the new backgrounds for ages but one thing that is a bit annoying sometimes the pokemon can get blocked by a flower or bush or something

It's interesting that the entire point of Pokémon Go was "playing in the real world" and after all these years they were like, "Yeah, no, the real world is ugly. Let's make it look like you're in a video game." and now we are and it's SO MUCH BETTER!

Lower end phones don't even have the Ar buddy option, it's off by default.

It's a pity that Niantic didn't decide to visually implement all these biomes (which have been in the game for a long time) on the map, but only in the form of a background when catching. Because when it comes to the map, they only changed the colors and added tiny bushes. I'm dissapointed.

I think they should have made it to where you can find every Pokemon anywhere but it a higher or lower chance like with wiglet is often found by oceans but have a lower chance in a city

I'm still waiting to see if wiglett is in waterfront areas like lakes and rivers, or if this is only along ocean coasts (asking for the 99% of the country that doesn't live within walking distance of Santa Monica). Pretty good spawns the last 24 hours (e.g. machamps and charizard, saw an azelf on the nearby screen, and even caught a wild frigibax yesterday).

Also I've noticed if a certain pokemon spawn for others that spawn will be a different one. For example my girl had a charmander and a shellos. For me it was a charmander and illumise. It's awesome but if there is a call out on discord for a 100% IV it may not be that for everyone. Can see a higher difficulty for sure

I feel like I’ve always noticed water types near water places tbh. EXTREMELY close to launch my friends would go to City Island in Harrisburg PA specifically because the entire island was known for being covered head to toe in water types. Mostly magicarp, but still a good variety. I remember hunting for my gold magicarp there. Good times😂

I went to the UK a month ago and they already had these so that was really cool to see it early! I got some amazing pictures with shinies with the interesting backgrounds

So far got a wild Rhydon, 2 Arcanine, Alakazam, and Machamp during the event, as well as a shiny Geodude and Chansey. I'd say this rediscover Kanto event is pretty alright

also, i think for the new update if you put an Eevee as your buddy and look at yourself in your avatar the Eevee will be on your shoulder

I think an update this game needs is more adventure affects. But it,s weather based. Like in the main series games theres like sunny day and rain dance and hail etc, I'm in arizona where the only weather we get is sunny. I feel like it would be a major improvement if say it was kyrem raid day if I could use 100 candies and stardust for on like abomasnow to make it snowy weather.

i actually love the rediscover kanto update because theres a ton more new pokemon now; used to never find a chansey anywhere near me and now i have a shiny one!

i think the changes they made to the enviroment is actualy really pretty, it could have benn better if they spent the millions of dollars on real problems pokemon go has (pvp...), but it looks pretty.

If you hit evolve and don't have enough candy, but do have enough rare candy, it'll prompt you to give rare candies and evolve at the same time now. It saves a decent amount of time.

Dude I got 3 research tasks from sustainablility week and they were all combed. One was, shiny, female, AND it was the floor.

I'm trying to grab the Combee, Foongus, or Trubbish research to stack up for the next 3x Stardust Community Day or even the double dust Spotlight Hour next month. I had about 20 Paras from Bug Out for Bellsprout day and got 50k Stardust out of it.

If they make the spawns too distinct it would make it a little too difficult for those of us that do things other than drive around to play pokemon. Im actually glad that the spawns are still mixed with some exception. Great vid!

im loving this rediscover kanto. Im a returning player from 2016. gives me a chance to finally catch O.G pokemon consistently. barely had any candy for any kanto pokemon.

I think the biomes thing is taken from the Monster Hunter Now, as is also made by Niantic. And the new biomes kinda "break" the shiny sparkles as they clip / hide behind the new floor texture... If you look at 1:13 and can go frame by frame you will see it. But the new biomes look awesome, sometimes a bit laggy and takes and not showing it properly but that may be my phones's fault. At least is better than the avatar thing xD

It kind of sucks because the spawns are exclusive to areas and people who don’t live near beaches and other areas or places without certain weather just cannot encounter certain Pokémon without events which sucks. Maybe they will even change it and make events worse too

Oh finally we have new wild spawn Pokemon in the wild after nearly 4 months in this year. This is Wiglett close relative with Diglett. Thank to Niantic for the very slow mo debut new Pokemon. But Wiglett right now is rare wild spawn Pokemon.

The overworld update is cool and all…but I’m still waiting on them to make shinies visible on the overworld. The sprites exist, because if your buddy Pokémon is shiny, it is shiny when following you. Just wish I didn’t have to click on every single Pokemon to confirm if shiny or not.

I actually love the new backgrounds and makes hunting pokemon more enjoyable. However, I hope one day Niantic will create and even more immersive experience. Instead of a map where your avatar is walking around and you have to click on a pokemon to go into tge catch screen, you use your camera to see actual pokemon in the space you are in and just swipe pokeballs to catch them, ala Legends Arceus style. And the pokemon could interact with the objects shown in your camera, like hiding behind a box or rummaging through a trash can lol.
