SOOOO I went to Lake Como and didn't tell anyone! A lovely wine brand tasked me with creating content and so I packed my bags, grabbed Colbie + the both of us traveled from NYC to Lake Como, Italy! I can finally share about it. It was such an amazing trip + Lake Como is so, so magical. Put it on your list if it isn't on there already!

Katy, nothing about your social media break was ‘weird behavior’. I’m so thrilled that the stars aligned and you were able it to go on a trip like this and also take the social media break you needed. You deserve it. Loved this video so much - always wanted to see a detailed vlog like this walking the viewers through Lake Como.

it was so COMFORTABLE if that makes sense.. high 50's/ low 60's in the sun so we wore layers!

I live in Milan and I don’t like Como 😂 is all so clean and kind of fake , made for tourists. There are better and more authentic places in Italy to visit

I get that you need to break down your fit. But in this context the amount of time spent examining it such excruciating detail is a little frustrating in contrast with a split second shot of a marketplace or the beauty of Lake Como a once in a lifetime scene. Would not they merit the same split second glance. I mean how long does it take to process a simple sandal.

I'm not gonna lie, its a little weird to announce a "Social media break" kind of insinuating you're struggling with your mental health just to be back and be like "hi guys it was a joke, I just secretly went on vacation" 🤨 you could've just gone without making people think you were unwell? weird behaviour

Hi! I totally see how this could be thought. I didn't want anyone to worry, this is why I clarified in my message about taking a break that I am ok, just need time away. It's now deleted as I'm back online. I'm so sorry if my post could have been worded differently - I just felt it was a "kill two birds with one stone" sort of moment as I really needed time offline but I also legally couldn't speak about this work trip. So it felt like a great moment to unplug, but I didn't want to disappear for a week without a peep, as that is very unlike me. My week long social break / deleting apps was such a breath of fresh air! I wanted to fully immerse myself in the trip, my life at that moment and not be glued to my social apps. It was liberating to be away and I truly feel better than ever now that I'm back on! Still haven't redownloaded my Tiktok lol still need a bit of a longer break from that. My screen time has been off the charts the past few months and it was making me overly critical of my own content so it was very nice to step away. XO K

Sometimes people step away from IG, Tik Tok etc just because they want to, need to for whatever (i.e work) reasons or simply for the peace and quiet...it doesn't have to be mental health and wellbeing related. We all existed without it not so long ago.
