Harrison Covington recalls several tragic events while being introduced to the P-47 on a base in Nebraska. The first event took place on the flight line where a plane crashed while coming in for landing. One day later a P-47 crashed into a B-17 while training. Harrison also recalls taxiing accidents and the crash of a cargo plane which resulted in the closing of that particular airfield.
