Hello Steve. I'm new to your channel. I'm a retired Africa/World History academic who is moving into a new home and having to give up my library space that I built almost thirty years ago. Now my books have to be split up into several rooms in the new house and the wife has pressured me to thin out the collection. This has been gut wrenching because so many of these books are part of my old identity. A number are from my one and only visit to the Brattle Bookshop when I was a grad student in the 80s. My interests are evolving and I have vowed to read from hard copies for an hour or two each morning drawing from your recommendations. For the past 25 years I have largely read audio books after I left academics to start a remodeling business. I know you don't favor audio books, but you can get a lot read when you're drywalling eight hours a day. Now I just do audio books when I'm making silver jewelry or painting lead soldiers. I have been repainting the interior of the new home while reading Infinite Jest so I know you will feel doubly sorry for me. I look forward to sharing our love of reading.
The John Gould sounds lovely. How cool to find all the New England books. I am always curious how you actually get home after a day like this. One huge cloth bag? Call the surly house boy? Strap the books on your miniature pack-schnauzer’s back?

Thanks for the continued deluge of BookTube content! Super jealous of the The Complete Chronicles of Conan just over that left should of yours. Definitely on my list of books I will one day get my hands on.
