Week 3 is pretty good too, Techno got along really well with his teammate that week. Also the week where he plays with Philza, don't remember which one it was, but it was great. It was also before Sleepy boys was a "thing", so Techno and Philza didn't know each other that well. The snowball gives people knockback, useful for combos, combos are a series of hits, they are done by walking at a certain speed and using the knockback of the attacks to keep them in your range but not you in theirs, also... In mc monday they slow people down

The “corrupted footage” is when they chased a weaponless vikkstar into a cave for a kill, but vikk got lucky and found an iron sword just before they jumped him. The short clip after the cut where techno was yelling was when vikk destroyed them with that sword lol.

The eggs gave opponents nausea and hunger effects, snowballs gave slowness. This made chasing easier. On top of this, they do knockback (no damage) making more effective combos. These and the soups aren't vanilla Minecraft. The soup gave health and was insta use. Speed soup did the same with an added effect of speed 2.

the soups are custom to the tournament and one of them just heals you, other one is an upgraded version that both heals you and gives you speed for a short time

Techno in his early days before he really had an audience spent around year basically taking over small pvp servers until he eventually moved to hypixal and played hunger games skywars and eventually bedwars for years until minecraft monday in which his content kinda changed from destroying noobs in skywars to monthly tournaments and skyblock

The snowball is actually called a slow ball and if you hit someone with it, it gives them a temporary slowness effect, and the egg gives whoever is hit nausea

If u were wondering. Hypixel has ranks which gives certain cool accessories, effects and much more. There's VIP, VIP+, MVP, MVP+, MVP++ which you can buy but then there's youtube rank and technoblade got a special rank from hypixel, Pig+++. Also hypixel said that techno can have the pig rank forever if hr uploaded every day for a week and he did and now he has pig rank for lifetime. RU-vid and pig+++ rank have the same buffs as mvp++ but they're cooler and only given to RU-vids with 20k subs or to people the youtubers.

Minecraft Mondays had a couple of mods like the speed soup, the instant tnt and snowballs with slowness effect.

On most hunger games servers, snow balls are often called slow balls because there's a plug-in that makes players slightly slower when they get hit by a snow ball

In Minecraft Monday’s, they made it so snowballs give slowness and eggs give hunger to whoever they hit. That’s why Techno always throws them in fights, his opponent being slower than him is an advantage

Snowballs, eggs, and fishing rods are used in 1.8 pvp to deal knockback to your opponent, which makes it easier to combo them.

In version 1.8, axes dealt 1 damage less than a sword, but they broke armor faster. In versions 1.9 and above however, every axe (except for gold, wood, and netherite) deal 9 damage (2 more damage than a diamond sword), however whenever you upgrade the material of the axe, it gains +0.1 attack speed, maxing out at 1.3. Swords in 1.9 and above have an attack speed of 1.6 and increase in damage depending on the material you use, maxing out at 8.

MCM had a few custom things. The snowballs gave slowness, the eggs gave nausea, and you could craft a custom speed soup with mushrooms and sugar.

On a side note, knockback is one of the, if not *the*, most important aspects of 1.8 PVP. Essentially, in a melee battle, if you can get a clean hit on someone, you can combo them, meaning you can hit them over and over without them being able to hit you. This is because getting knocked back decreases your reach. This can be prevented by the fishing rod, which is why people use them, since they have extreme knockback and are ranged, allowing you to not only get out of a combo but start comboing someone else. There's a lot of nuances like this in 1.8 PVP which I think makes it way more complicated than 1.9+ Combat (the type dream plays on), which really just goes to show how good a player techno is, being able to exploit all the technique simultaneously.

Also the reason sometimes he didn't hit the person immediately is so he can knock them back into a wall to reset their sprint 21:00 he uses speed soup [only for mm] to get combos and (if you are sprinting and you have more reach than when you're walking or standing) knock them into the air so he can get more hits without them hitting him slow/snowballs to reset their sprit (the snowball does a small amount of knock-back) before a fight he hotkeys to the soup because the give instant health [only for mm] he also block hits (clicking the m1 and m2 button at the same time so he can attack and block around the same) to take less damage whilst hitting them also, he sprints and jumps on flat ground which is 30% faster than just sprinting and he only jumps when he needs to on slopes to minimize the amount of time he stops sprinting by accidentally running into blocks or taking fall damage the reason jack got hit so far 7:00 is that he was clicking fast enough to hit him 2 times before he was sent out of his range and when you hit people more than once before they hit the ground the knock-back adds up the axes work like swords in 1.8 so you can spam the axe a reason for his wins is that he prioritizes getting stronger loot over getting early kills and risk dying because, for bad gear, that's why early game he has a little number of kills okay have a good day love your vids

In case you don't know, the reason Techno chucks single Snowballs and Eggs at people is because in Minecraft Mondays they had special effects; snowballs slowed down other players and eggs gave them nausea.

Like, he has 4 kills so that got him 5 compasses in his inventory after killing them, but then he also picks up the compasses from the kills of the people he's killed. Using one doesn't make it disappear and they aren't given to the players over time by the game. Hopefully that makes sense? It's a little hard to word properly lol -Btw, the reason he throws snowballs is because they give slowness to the player they hit and they can do a little knockback sometimes (Eggs do the same thing, I believe) 19:16 No, they disabled pvp against your teammate, so Techno was fine swinging his sword like that -Speed soup is something they added for the tournaments here. It can be eaten instantly (at this point) and it gives the player a speed boost effect. It's not a thing outside of the tournament though.

the snowball is coded to slow them down in this and the egg is coded to give them nausea when you throw them at someone edit: btw there is a bunch of stuff thats coded into this and not normally in the game like the speed soup and the health soup. you should also watch techno beating minecraft with a steering wheel edit 2: also i dont know if u know this but skeppy is also really good at pvp and minecraft in general edit 3: techno has also already done a face reveal btw and in this he has like 500k subs, also PIG rank is something that technos wanted as like a half joke for a long time and now he has PIG+++ rank permanently but you have to watch all the mcm videos for that

The reason for the snowball is knockback, in 1.8 pvp getting the first hit is extremely important as the knockback can basically allow you to combo someone to death without ever getting hit, which is why things like snowballs, eggs, and fishing rods are used as they all let you to get the first hit while being out of range of the other person (assuming they aren't also using those).

21:30 so snowballs are great in PvP mainly because they ruin momentum and can throw off parkour- interrupt combos, and just be annoying- but in Minecraft Monday they also slowed the person for a short period of time, meaning you could catch up to them to get more hits.

When asking about the snowballs and eggs and why they are used. Normally, in 1.8 snowballs, eggs, and fishing rods are used in pvp to cause knockback in order to hopefully knock them into a block to be able to catch up, or they would be used to get combos as if you are moving forward, and the other person is either stationary or moving backwards you will get hit priority over them. This was removed in 1.9 and after completely with snowballs and eggs, and fishing rods would only pull the target closer to you, instead of only doing the opposite of giving knockback. In this event as well, snowballs and eggs had added effects, with the snowballs giving a hit target slowness for a few seconds, and eggs giving hunger and nausea. Hope this helps.

Snowballs, eggs and fishing rods do knockback in 1.8 so you can use that to get the first hit and maybe first combo which could win the fight.

As a technoblade fan from before Minecraft Monday’s watching this tournament while it was happening was so absolutely therapeutic. It was just so great watching his subscribers double within those few weeks.

the first MCM was when he began his popularity, no one in the tournament really knew him other than his friends.

In this event and some hunger/survival game servers hitting someone with a snowball gives them slowness and hitting them with an egg gives them hunger which drains their food bar quicker which interrupts health regen and sprinting, the soups are another PvP server item the standard soup is instant health and the speed soup as the name implies gives you speed as well as health.

OH another important thing is that you can see smajor in the game and this import because it's what inspired scott/smajor to start mcc

Snowballs in some servers and in the vanilla Combat Snapshots cause knockback, they are pushing the enemy and removing their momentum. They do not currently do knockback in complete vanilla in non-modified servers (nor ever did before, even though it is a popular myth they did in the past). They are useful even if not causing slowness.

Some of the weird things you may have noticed are due to the fact this event uses 1.8 combat, where every attack does full damage and there isn’t really a cooldown, meaning the faster you hit someone, the better. That’s also why you see techno using swords, since they were the better option in this version, and Dream using axes in the manhunts, since they’re better in the post-1.9 combat system
