During my flight from Mumbai to Winnipeg ,I had about 8 hours transit @Paris CDG landed at 8 AM .Also for some reason travel agent booked flights in different legs.That means @Paris I had to do immigration ,take my luggage & recheck in for my Canada flight.Well! as a Canadian citizen it worked out for me.Didn't need a visa & had express lines for Canadian/US/UK citizens.So after all this hassle ,I said why not take a little risk & explore Eiffel Tower?. At 10 AM ,after grabbing my luggage I cracked a deal with one of the cab driver for 200 euros (200 CAD) to take me around Eiffel Tower & bring back to airport 3 hours prior to my Canada flight.Due to 2024 Olympics preparation traffic is chaotic in Paris.Took longer to reach to Eiffel Tower than anticipated.But at the end it was worth the efforts. Especially briefly visiting Pont de Alma tunnel ,where Lady Diana had an accident.brought back emotional memories of my young age. Realized how much everyone around the world was influenced by such a beautiful soul 'Diana'.
I paid a Cab driver by my credit card.Always ask & keep receipt.when I came back home realized there were two transactions.I had to call my credit card company, which eventually reversed one of the transaction.
All in all worth every effort that I made.
(P.S : you may notice some sad/emotional faces of me as I was returning home after my beloved brother's funeral).
