My favourite intros of any RU-vid channel. I think I’ve watched the yearly intro vids at least 3 times each, brilliant! So, is the T Rex a mom or a dad? And if so, where’s the other parent? Mmmm? How about an old hammer shotgun? Something a manor gamekeeper or a farmer would have had here in England over a century ago? “Get orrrff my laaand!”

I have the hunting version of the 887. The bolt opens when you fire a shot even though it has a locking bolt that's supposed to keep the bolt forward until you pump it. Remington said that was normal, but I know it's not. It would be like your ar bolt opening on just blowback before any gas made it into the gas tube. They discontinued the 887 after only a few years because of several quality issues, and a safety recall where the firing pin would get stuck forward and it would slam fire when closing the bolt. I've taken a few ducks, and a turkey with mine. It was the cheapest 3.5 inch 12 gauge on the market when I bought it.

@hanktorrance6855
@hanktorrance6855 Год назад
Going through a door is not the point unless your assailant is standing in front of a door and you are worried about passing through the target AND the door behind them. Primary gun safety is “always be sure of your target “ therefore shooting through a wall or door to hit a target on the other side, is irresponsible at best and criminal negligence at worst. What Scott did an excellent job of proving is that over penetration is a genuine hazard in any typical home defensive situation. Additionally most states require that you be in imminent danger and fear for your life….try convincing a jury of that if you shot through the door or wall without being able to clearly identify your intended target.

@@mrbuildbeastnz You mean like the Quake literally three days ago on the coastline of Greece and Turkey? If half the ground under your house shifts a couple of feets away, while the other half stays where it is, absolutely no material used in building houses will withstand this force. I got to admit, the Quake in the Mediterranean Sea was 0.1 Magnitude weaker than the one in NZ. But also the Epicenter in Europe was about 400 miles closer to the Coast of Greece

What Scott missed in biology class is that Rangeasaures gets less off the handle violent with age as seen by the adult specimen caught on here from time to time, it can wait in ambush, communicate, make plans and use tools. KB is lucky to have such magnificent range specimen.

Watching this really brings back memories. My first shotgun was an 887 Nitromag. I bought it for 400, took it commercial fishing for a few seasons, then sold it for 400. I regret it every day. The stock has a memory foam like recoil pad that makes shooting those heavy loads a dream.

I bought an 887 Nitromag the first year they came out. I swap out the "tactical" choke for a turkey choke and hunt with it during turkey season. The great thing is that it functions very well with 2.75", 3" and 3.5" shells. You don't need to feed it 3.5" shells all the time, but it sure is impressive when you do!

Hey Scott, you should get a Standard Manufacturing DP-12 shotgun. Large capacity and a lot of fun! Definitely take out a lot of watermelons, poupon, and the unlikable egg plant lol. Good video brotha, enjoyed the demonstration of what over penetration looks like in walls.

I’ve got a Remington 11-87 that is simply a beast. 👍 Chambered for 2 3/4”, 3”, and 3 1/2”. I chose that one because I “should” always be able to find ammo for it and the type/size won’t matter to me if I’m having to scrounge ammo on the run.

Hey! I've had the long barrel version of the 887 for years and years. My wife bought it for me right after we got married so I could hunt upland game and dove when I was stationed at Fort Bragg. Close to 10 years ago now. Nice and cheap when I was lower enlisted back then.

The 887 seems like a viable choice for defending your property when the front door is closed. Personally think the Russian KS-23 would be best, as it’s a 6 gauge (6.27 specifically). Also: Tactical T-Rex Junior. Never thought I’d see the day.

@@haunted5311 The KS-23 is just an aircraft barrel that the Russians took to fire low velocity 23mm grenades, and 23mm is equivalent to the US/British 6 gauge or the European 4 gauge.

Have heard that range of remingtons suffer poor quality control but least that example is still operating fine. No rust and orginal wood parts are holding nicely. Thousands of rounds trough from clayshots to 2.3oz hunting loads. I paid for long chamber. I will use whole chamber when hunting.
