Understanding what the universe is made of and how it works is the ultimate goal of humankind. Although this is a challenging task, a good first step is to study how matter and energy work in their fundamental elements. Nanotechnology is the branch of science devoted to understanding and manipulating matter on a near-atomic scale to produce new structures, materials, and devices. Giulio de Vito will bring you on a journey to see what we are capable of doing at the nanoscale and how the world of physics may surprise us with new phenomena.
This video is a recording of Giulio de Vito's presentation at the diss:kurs 2024 event, where doctoral candidates and postdocs of the University of Basel presented their research project to an academic and broader public.
