I absolutely love the value focused builds on the channel, there aren't too many of these on RU-vid. Its a good reminder we don't always need the best of the best!
It's very rare, that I just lean back in my chair and enjoy somone building a rig, but how can you not? The video is well done, the choices are well thought out and the narration is just so pleasent. Attenborough levels of soothing. Thanks for your awesome work, man.
Oz, you have brought back my love for computers and budget builds. I was tired of spending so much money on new parts and never thought about the used market since I was a teenager starting out. Your videos are calming and engaging and I love your ability to make most builds aesthetically pleasing. Thank you
Good upgrade path to the 5800x3d, which is a top tier gaming CPU. Currently around $315, but even in a year or so it will still be very good thanks to that v-cache. Very impressive build
And remember, if you are ok buying a used card, things like the rx 6600 can be found for about the same price provided you are patient enough to wait for an auction that goes for a much lower price
I just bought a B grade rx 6600 from overclockers UK for my first build. I got it for £200 which is amazing, the original price ranges anywhere from £260-£350
@@H31MU7 can confirm. in my experience, i bought a, RX5700XT, a refurbished model. it's been around 4 weeks already since i got it, it has worked pretty much flawlessly, albeit a bit hotter than my old GTX1650 Super, but is to be expected, draws more power. just make sure to buy from a reputable seller
The GTX 1660 Ti used is more in line with the price of the RX 580/5500 XT at around $100-$150 and its a good bit faster than both. You are not going to find a used RX 6600 for less than $200 unless you stare at ebay 24/7.
Or the 5700 XT that will net you a bit more performance for a little or around the same money if you're lucky. I got mine brand new just without the original box for £170.
I don't think it's particularly mind-blowingly genius to ... simply use older generation hardware, but the videos are still really well put together and I think it's nice that there is a youtuber who builds "new" PCs that actually cater to a lot of people's budget. Older cards often get lost in the shuffle from all this coverage of new and powerful products. People will almost feel "bad" for getting an RX6600 even though it's a true value champion and will let you play games on high/utltra-settings at 1080p60fps all day long.
There's a big difference between cheap and frugal. You sir, are frugal. You get great deals and prices on products that are good without overspending but also without getting the worst options 🙏
Indianapolis is getting a MicroCenter this summer! I'm so happy I found your channel last month. I always thought gaming PCs had to be $1k+ to meet my needs, but you proved me wrong.
Built a very similar rig from Microcenter two years ago: case, mobo, and CPU (although mine's a 3600X) GPUs were a no go back then, so I dropped in my trusty GTX 960. I recently upgraded the GPU to an RX 6650 XT and added some RGB fans and strips. It's been a rock solid rig and plays just about anything well. Always dig your videos! Super chill and helpful
Oz you always put out some great videos. You make it easy for beginners who are for the first time building a pc to understand how to build there own PC. Can't wait for the next video thank you.
Heck yeah, always happy to see a new video from you. Now I am doubly happy because I just discovered that there will soon be a Micro center here in Indy!
this was my first build ever and i had a lot of trouble following all the cable management. my cpu cooler was different and it was huge plus i have big hands. but thankfully i got everything plugged into the motherboard correctly
Oz you are awesome. This video was really enjoyable and informative. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise as well as your peaceful and loving nature.
Thank you for this video. I love my local Micro Center. I just did 2 $380 builds for a couple of clients and Micro Center had the best prices and deals around.
I really hope that they put a Mirco Center in Middle Georgia. Atlanta traffic is a massive pain and a 4 hour round trip is just not it for me lol. So for now I'm stuck either going to the overly crappy Best Buy in Warner Robins/Macon, or ordering things off of Amazon. I think they said that they're going to be opening 25 new stores in a certain amount of time, tryly hope one will be here. But I doubt it since I'm not lucky enough to get good things built here lol
1:49 Oz Drop Tips hahaha By the way, I built the previous 500$ build and I gotta say thanks man, you really saved me a lot of money I didn't have and the pc performs pretty well. I did change the GPU and it ended up being about 550$ or so, but still, following your advice and the "good enough" mentality is something I needed to learn. So thanks again for making these videos, I know you help a lot more people that are struggling with money to build good computers. Edit: some tips, this case is great, but the power button is actually really sensitive, so I recommend any of you guys who bought this case to go to your windows power settings and make the power button not do anything hahaha
If you go used the RX 5700xt is going for around $130 - 150 USD . Has great 1440p capability still. Performance is Comparable to RX 6600XT and RTX 3060!! Steal of a deal and anyone is looking for a cheap but very capable gpu. Definitely could last couple years until RTX 5000 and maybe RTX 6000 releases when hopefully the gpu price market will be better.
i wish your channel was much bigger , its the most real situation when it comes to getting the best deals , being good enough , giving best value and making the right decisions . love your stuff.
It should be noted that refurbished PS4 Pro costs around $400 on Newegg and such. This Rx 580 (570 in fact) is roughly equal to GPU in PS4 Pro, and PC itself is much more versatile and upgradable.
I was looking to buy/build my first pc to use for both my STEM focused classes and gaming. And I don’t think you know how glad I am that I came across your channel.
I love your content, as well as your friendly and ultra chilled demeanor. That alone makes me want to watch more of your content. It relaxes me. But not just that. I also appreciate your thorough and concise explanation and breakdown of your builds. Keep it coming. Thumbs up and just subscribed..
I love how easy Oz is making it look to build, like it is, because way too many people are afraid of building and waste money by buying a pre built system.
Enjoyed a cuppa coffee with this relaxing video, thanks! Also I seem to have very similar setup with 3600, 16GB but with 1070Ti, very nicely balanced build :P
i just built a pc w the same combo from microcenter, even the exact same ram, i found a 500gb wd black gen4 ssd for 40 and a gx2 600w psu! nice video man!
