The scripts were very interesting concepts but they depicted Kylo as a weird obsessive force user running around collecting old Jedi and sith artifacts. The idea is very cool but I think it was tough to work the concept into something normal people could get into.

Same for me. As a child and teen I read most of the extended universe books (now: Legends) and it was a massive slap in the face, when I heard that all that stories are gonna be trash from now on. Then I was like "well, at least we will see our heros reunited..." and it is not just new characters like the first Jurassic World. I vividly remember that I was deeply confused in the cinema when Han got killed off. I actually expected him to die beforehand, but I was like "wait, what? not yet...they haven't met Luke yet"

As lazy as JJ's writing was at least he still had some modicum of respect for the source material in awakens. Ryan rightfully takes most of the blame, he just shit all over an entire franchise. I don't think the lando repairing a robot who enjoys it a bit too much is a character destruction outside the fact that this robot is the most annoying robot ever created and the average person would press the "off" button on it permanently really quickly

Solo disrespected robots as a whole by making the only character that seem to care about droid slavery a stupid joke. It would've been fine to just never acknowledge that droids are sentient slaves, no one actually cares, but they had to bring attention to it in the worst way possible.

I get the sentiment, but having character be static isn't a good idea either. I loved the idea of Luke having doubts and needing to work through those doubts, problem is that it was simply used as an excuse as to why Luke couldn't solve all the problems and then left at that. Sure, Luke wouldn't try to assassinate his apprentice, but Kylo could very well have fallen anyway which could have sent Luke spinning. Such a storyline would have been awesome. Likewise Han falling back into his old ways is a cool side-story to explore and work through, but that didn't happen either :( I will however agree that the return of Palpatine was the biggest ever "fuck you" aimed at the franchise and its fans... Maybe a Sith spirit Palpatine could work, but having him return like that just messes up the whole arc of Anakin yes...

People complain a lot about how Luke is out there milking some weird creature and drinking its milk, like eww, grossest thing ever... But I mean, what's the difference? Lots of people drink cow milk, or eat cheese or whatever. We're just used to the idea of cows. Remember Luke grew up on a farm, he drank Bantha milk as a kid. He's not gonna have those kinds of hang-ups.

jj abrahms and the other writers are also responsible. kathleen managed the project but the duty of writing and planning falls on writers if they were giving them the ability to write the story they wanted. the two biggest mistakes were not planning all three movies at the same time they wrote the first one, and giving creative control to a different director for the second movie instead of having one creative vision leading the project.

At this point no amount of special editions are going to fix the issues of the sequel trilogy. The best and only possible solution is to completely remake the movies, they can still keep the same characters but the story has to be drastically changed.

I like that latter idea, and honestly Finn had all the potential in the world, even all the fans after the 7th movie wanted him to take a major role, yet they focused all their time on two characters everyone hated.

Rey Skywalker’s potential is greater than Anakin’s power and full potential. She is not only the greatest leader and candidate for woman empowerment, she is the only embodiment for it. Instead of fighting who is the best and greatest character in Star Wars. Or also the greatest trilogy in Star Wars. Let’s all admit and say the real truth and reality, Rey Skywalker is in fact the greatest masterpiece of a character in Star Wars and the sequel trilogy has the greatest movies in Star Wars. Also, the sequel trilogy in Star Wars are the greatest trilogy in all of cinema, and considered to be greater than the Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Even the experts and the best or legendary directors such as George Lucas, Peter Jackson, James Cameron, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola and etc considers the all the three movies of the sequel trilogy in Star Wars are the greatest movies in history. Please no more fighting and bashing other characters, especially Rey Skywalker to say your favorite character is the best, especially Darth Vader or Anakin Skywalker whom Rey Skywalker the real GOAT is infinite times better as a character in writing and relatable, and also more powerful. ✅✅

Disney are not doing a complete bad job on Star Wars yes the movies are awful (except Rogue One and Solo) But the Series, Comics and Games are mostly pretty good

You can see that in the first sequal movie there were big plans for Finn because he was a character with potential but then in part 2 & 3 they just said 'screw it' and the only reason he is still part of the movies is for cheap comedy elements.

Precisely. If it was about a woman becoming the chosen one (which it most likely was) then just have the actors swap roles and the writers work that out. The fact that the ex-stormtroopers was male had nothing to do with the huge missed opportunity. Also as much as I hate Rey as a character I love Daisy Ridley as an actor, she could totally have rocked the ever-living crap out of an ex-stormtrooper role! :)

Well, I agree. But with RU-vid, "everyone" wants to get 15 minutes of fame and be a content creator. I watch a bit of a few of these and move on. Get the point usually by 1/3rd of the video and lose patience and move on. YT has created super short video's. I'd like them to have a new class of video's maybe 5 minutes long. That's enough to get a lot of info in a short time.

I also like that we get so many unique fights, I know that they didnt have much to work with in the 70s and 80s, but the prequel fights are so much cooler, you get the maul fight, 2 dooku fights, general grevious fight, battle of geonosis, windu vs palpatine, yoda vs palpatine, and anakin vs obi. Nothing against any star wars movie though because each one has its own unique awesome quote, scene, character, etc... except for the sequels

@@mishynaofficial Not me. Unfortunately, I was already old and jaded. When Disney said they had 9 movies planned I saw the writing on the wall. They planned to milk the franchise dry. But maybe they would make something decent because they still want to make money. I wasn't excited, but I was cautiously optimistic. When I watched Force Awakens and I knew immediately they wouldn't make anything decent. They were going to nostalgia bait and offer nothing of substance. Rogue One was alright, I guess. But everyone seems to forget it exists. Then Last Jedi released, and I was just done. Haven't watched any Disney Star Wars since. I have the first 6 on DVD and that is all I will watch.

@@koloth5139 i was hopeful, but once I watched A New Hope remake - I'm sorry - The Force Awakens, I was done. Since then they went downhill. And I must say, the nostalgia baits are super distracting, I don't know should I follow the new characters or ponder the status quo of the old ones. Rogue One turned out the best, because they used very little of the OT characters, but that movie is still not great.

In a perfect world, Lucasfilm were bought by Universal Studios, maybe it would do less damage, yet brings less contents.

Agreed Force Awakens was the best one. And I have never once felt the urge to rewatch it since seeing it in the cinema.

When I visited the cinema to watch EP7, I expected ,,fate of the Jedi" to be the story they made into a trilogy. These are 9 novels that include a storyline with new elements, such as a demigod (Abeloth) and Sith and Jedi working together. Both the Yuuzhan Vong and Fate of the Jedi could fill a trilogy each. Or maybe you could make one movie about Thrawn, one about the Yuuzhan Vong and one about Abeloth and the lost tribe of the Sith.

@@albumorienteddungeons343 Thrawn is beyond overhyped, and mostly by people who haven't read the EU to know this and but want to appear "in the know" by name-dropping an EU character. Literally the "Gulp Shitto" meme personified. Knight Errant, Jedi Academy, Crystal Star, and of course the XWing Saga + I, Jedi are where it's at. In no particular order, although I find Jacen's story to be the best of the best. The Yuuzan Vong, while not inherently bad, are more-or-less payoff, and thus require the buildup of the books leading into the arc. Again, this could be accomplished by Jacen/Caedus, so they REALLY should have started there. Although, they wouldn't, because the Janca-Caedus thing would never have given them the love interest (and thus "shipper appeal") Disney so desires.
