You're not going to believe this! RC4WD released a slightly improved (and more expensive) version of their K10 Trail Finder 2!! I'll show you just what $569.99 gets you.
Imo, this is hands down, the most realistic, best looking square body out right now. I love the scale look of the suspension, axles, and frame, and the hard body, and under hood looks awesome. Some people complain a bit about the capabilities of this truck, but this is a better representation of what a real truck's capabilities are. A factory pick up, is not a rock crawler. If you want something that looks almost as nice, with more capabilities, a trx 4, or high trail version with their portal axles, will do just that, but doesn't offer the same level of scale looks. After seeing this rig, I'm definitely gonna grab the black version, and do a hobbywing brushless conversion, and some other mods. This truck is sick. Great video.
The builds and run videos of said builds are what drew me here the honesty is what keeps me coming back. If changing the appearance is the cheapest route I would like to see it go that way.
That was Awsome huge sub and like dude! Only rc4wd rig not just body I have is bulky2 and gold and bad. Like picture yiur screws and grease the insides. Why do they make the bumpers so big….thata my only real pet peeve about the way rhese look. But man they look amazing. Awsome scale run with it. I like a stiff suspension on my lcg rigs. Man you can t beat that thjng right there for low close up shots it looks so real dude
I love your commentary. You always make me smile. RC4WD is one of those companies that makes you happy and sad at the same time. I have a few vehicles from them. At this point if I wanted the K10, I would buy the body kit for $150 and put it on a different platform. I do give you 8 out of 10 for the pirouette on top the hill. I would like to see your upgrades to this truck in both performance and looks. That way you will have to continue to make videos for the next few years to break even.
I’m glad to hear you enjoy my videos. RC4WD has bewildered me for a long time. They do a good thing, they do 20 weird things then do something to get your hopes up then let you down.
I saw a few people getting side mirrors from the Traxxas K10 and mounting those on that body. The Bowhouse skid plate would be a big improvement along with the A&M garage shackle reversal kit.
Bought the Traxxas mirrors and door handles the same I got this truck. I used both the A&M and Bowhouse skids before but given the price of the A&M parts I’ll be going Bowhouse skid and making my own front leaf hangers.
I do really like their stuff. I just can’t support putting $40 in parts into a $400 rig and then charging almost $600 for it. I’d buy this and the new 4 runner all day at $450
@@mattmckinney6350 I’m guessing they’ve got about $21.87 total in the stock radio, receiver, motor & servo. Just to clarify, I like RC4WD stuff. It’s just overpriced.
@@mattmckinney6350 I suppose to that point I bought the TF2 kit for $185 and built it. Bought the blazer body for $99. Put a Hobbywing 1080 in it $40 and a crawlmaster sport motor for $20 and a Spektrum radio receiver combo for $99. So yeah. At a little over $400 I built it better. 🤣
@@mattmckinney6350 yeah but have you ever used punctuation when you write or do you just go on and on forever without stopping to take a breath when you talk too and quite frankly i bought the truck i can not like it or i can like it thats up to me and metal parts arent always the best parts especially if they are made from weird cast metal like rc4wd uses and i can make my own body i dont need their body and electronics i dont ever spend good money on those i just drive around the yard and if you dont think theyre making a humungous profit on this junk youre crazy have fun hope you enjoyed reading this
If there are people who don't think that you make good videos. Forget them! I would like to see performance upgrades first. I've been contemplating a tf2 chassis for a build I want to do. I would like to see the mods and capabilities of it from someone who has experience with the chassis
I’m the one saying my videos are no good. It’s a lot of work to even make the low quality videos I do. I’d recommend the builder’s kit or whatever that one is that comes without a body or wheels. I actually have one waiting for another build I’m doing. It’s just about the only choice for a lead sprung truck.
@@turksandjerps Thank you for the advice. I enjoy your videos a ton and though I wish they were more frequent, I think they would lose some charm if you were manufacturing them. Keep up the good work and I'll check into that kit!
Seems like you really like rc4wd 😂 First thing i'd change is the ESC.... I don't like the whine those RTR ESC produce... Leave the stock motor, put in a hobbywing 1080... that is more than enough Performance for this Truck.
Haha, it’s complicated. They don’t take constructive criticism very well. I agree with replacing the ESC and it’s hard to beat Hobbywing for the price, will probably be a Fusion SE.
Your videos are top quality and really quite refreshing compared to a lot of other channels. Figgins Holly is simply next level! Would it be easier to swap out the chassis to one you've already upgraded, so you can focus on sorting out the body?
Wow, thanks! Glad you like my videos and Smiggin’s Folly. I’ve already doubled down on the TF2 and did some mods to it. I’d like to do an update soon. Stay tuned.
My pet peeve is you bagged on the truck the whole time!, and this video series is about making it perform better. Everyone in this hobby and on your community know what they get with RC4WD. And stop screwing the body down, just put Allen studs in and use them to keep the body on. Waste of time putting the body screws in, it doesn't go fast enough 😂🤣
Great honest review of a truck that could've had a bit better attention to details. I noticed as you were talking about the body they have improved the ugly bulge in the front fender and made the body line straighter. They still can't quite get the height of the truck correct for what it is though. Pretty nice all around truck though, price is definitely too steep (especially for us Canadians..)
