Thanks for featuring the Fiat 131s at the show. All the other videos I've seen have missed them out. They are a rare sight nowadays, so 6 in a row is something special. Also, the livery of the pickup at 19:50 probably has something to do with the Mad Max movies.
Yes, Ian Seabrook's video wouldn't have shown them as he wasn't around on the second day. I got over three hours of footage (in six parts) when I was there, and I still didn't get everything. As a fan of the old Jean-Paul Belmondo film "Le Professionnel", I couldn't not film the 131 Mirafioris...
Fantastic selection of automotive goodness. Loved the selection of fantastic 70's Fiat 131s. An incredibly rare sight, it seems like the whole of fleet of them that are left in UK all turned up to allow you to film them. Sterling work sir.
Absolutely brilliant Joseph, I thoroughly enjoyed this series! One of the main reasons I subscribed, and I feel your channel only gets better! Shambolic Shuffle? Rubbish! Loved every minute, every vehicle. And I cannot wait for more!
It's always going to be Shambolic, sir, and we will continue not to edit it properly, not use proper equipment and try not to fall over. But that is the way we like it, and so we will continue in this way!
@@lloydvehicleconsulting I like what you are doing. I overlook all the distractions, don't care if you don't edit, I simply like it all! The vehicles you featured, the information, extremely informative. I like your enthusiasm over each and every vehicle, especially the one's you like. And yes, I like a beige leather interior as well!
This spendid show comes close to being all my motoring yesterday's in one place. I can vaguely recall being taken for a drive in one once back when I was still in my teens but I must admit I don't think I've even THOUGHT about the old Fiat Mirafoiri this century. I see pllenty of Escorts and Capris around of course but it seems that more Mk1 and MK2 Cortinas have survived than the later Mk3 and Mk4 models that I remember so very well. There was a time I might have considered selling my soul to Beelzebub to own '82 Cortina Crusader with that special two tone paint job and glorious velour interior .... come to think of it I still might if the old fella could find me a nice one.
So much beautiful stuff I don't know how you covered it all. Taking pictures of Nova Saloon for your Wife and the Tipo Sedicivalvole among others along the way. Alan Moffat and Colin Bond brought their Ford Falcon XA GT Coupes home first and second at Bathurst in 1977 side by side in style regularly touching 160 mph down Conrod Straight. The Hillman Imp was a real Mini rival if the engine had been a little better, a great practical design though. In 1979/80 our local Traffic Branch used that Light Green RS 2000 to patrol a piece of road that had a temporary weight limit due to subsidence. That might sound a bit strange but none of our Police Vehicles were marked until well into the 21st Century for security reasons. Vehicles over 3 Tons still used this stretch of the road because the detour was about 20 miles. So I suppose the bright Green RS 2000 would be easily spotted as a deterrent. The highlight. Datsun Laurel 2.4 straight 6. Excellent Joseph.
Another great Shuffle and well done on filming for us viewers and taking us on 3 hours worth of footage. Cars for me in this part were the alfasud and 145 for me towards the end of the video.
The Beta was a great car, family saved one from the scrap yard. Fast and thirsty. I had a Mk1 Civic (Police Academy), also good cars, very ahead of their time. Good cars to improve your welding skills on!
Please accept my apologies, but I have only just seen this comment from over two years ago! I think that the algorithm has been hiding a number of these for some time.
Again, great selection of cars there Mr Lloyd, absolutely love the totally standard and mint Peugeot 104! Been around 20 yrs since I last saw one as well, the last one I saw was a 104 in bright Orange on an X plate.
Just catching up with all the videos Absolutely brilliant stuff again. Keep up the great work sir . Can't believe there was a 405 estate there . They were so common back in the day . I still think the sapphire cosworth is a thing to behold
No problem at all, sir! I hope that you have enjoyed all the videos from the Retro Rides Weekender. We do like a nice 405 GTX, don't we? I think Mr Coleman had a couple of Sierra Sapphire Cosworths back in the day too.
We do like a nice original Supras, don't we? Gosh, I think that the Ford Popular was one of the cheapest cars of its era, they must have sold lots of them.
Its Sunday I'm chilling out binge watching ur retro rides video's excellent sir blessed with beautiful weather when u were there ,I'm on video 6 there's 1 thumb down must be hubnut😄
Yes, I think that the Bonus special edition was based on the Popular trim level, so you didn't get anything at all! A rare survivor like this is wonderful to see.
@@lloydvehicleconsulting Also the Sierra would switch between an L and GL model for some reason on the same number plate. Continuity error which we would spot but no so obvious to anybody else watching at the time.
Yes, same with the 240 he had later, as that would switch between the earlier and later type of door mirrors, so it was definitely two different Volvos.
I am ever so sorry, but once again the RU-vid algorithm seems to have hidden your comment for the last two years, so please accept my apologies for being slow to respond!
Didn't know about the MK3 fiesta classic. I do like the MK3. My friend had a 2.0 16V Corrado and his sister had a 2.0 8v in the sane colour as that VR6 and all the badges and grill were colour coded. Not sure if it was a special edition.
I was hoping in one of these series that you would fins a 90s 626. Or a 80s gallant/ Lonsdale. But sadly they may not popular enough. But anyway! I saw enough fascinating cars in this great series
I am ever so sorry, but once again the RU-vid algorithm seems to have hidden your comment for the last two years, so please accept my apologies for being slow to respond!
So sorry not to have replied to you beforehand! The RU-vid algorithm buried your comment for over two years.... I am afraid the modifications on base models are just sort of standard at Retro Rides Weekender.
Is retro rides basically taking a run of the mill 70s/80s/90s car and sticking alloy wheels on it and maybe some lowering? Some nice cars there but would be better if they were left alone and not given the whole 'retro' treatment. Nothing retro about some split rims on a Cavalier or Orion L.
There were a number of completely standard cars there, and there were also some modified ones. It shows the whole spectrum of what people like to do, really.
