Yes finally EXO TIME ❤ growl is their highest pick. Because of this song exo became popular and this song is called the national anthem of south korea coz many people know this song its iconic and many kpop idols cover this song ❤
Growl is called korea's second national anthem , this song is so popular in korea even after 10 years Also MV was one take recording and you can clearly see this because of some mistakes Thank you for reacting to EXO 👌
@@Blobel0403 Dear, it's not my opinion It's exactly what Korean people called this song for years It's not a real anthem, but was so popular for years even till now so people called it Korea's second anthem, it's a nickname by Korean people not kpopers
A fun fact: Kyungsoo's part in 6:18 was actually made by him. He noticed that in the demo song this part sounded like Blackstreet's song 'No Diggity' (both songs have the same producer) so he decided to change it to be careful so there would be no accusations of plagiarism and remade this entire part. We only discovered this in 2022 when Kyungsoo and Jongin accidentally mentioned it at their birthday fanmeeting. Unfortunately he never received the recognition he was due for this
The performance version of EXO's "Growl" is a one-take video, which means that it was shot all in one take without any cuts or edits. However, although it is a one-take video, this does not mean they used the very first take, it just means that every time anyone made a mistake, they had to start all over again from the very beginning. While filming this MV they had to dance the choreography about 7 times and this was the take the director and producer decided to use. They actually danced this choreography for the filming of this MV until they physically could not do it anymore. But not even this take was technically "perfect." If you notice, Kai (EXO's main dancer) drops the hat in the middle of the dance in the Korean version and he smoothly bends down and picks it up. (The stealing of the hat is actually part of the choreography.) As you saw, Kai needed the hat at the end. But because it was done so effortlessly that most people don't even notice the mistake, or assume it's just part of the choreography, the director and editors decided to use this footage anyway. And if you watch the Mandarin version, if you look closely, you will see Suho (EXO's leader) steps on Sehun's foot and Sehun (EXO's youngest member, a main rapper and dancer) swats him as if to say, "hey, watch out.". :D. Fun fact: Those aren't just suits that they are wearing. Those are individualized school uniforms. The unaltered versions would be what Korean students would wear when attending school. What makes EXO's uniforms special is that no two uniforms were the same, each member has their own version. (Although school uniforms have been the norm for most girl groups as a concept, EXO was one of the very first boy groups to use the concept in their MVs. And after "Growl" was released, almost all boy groups that came after them have had at least one MV where they wore school uniforms as part of the concept for the song.) In the beginning of the performance MV, you start out by seeing 6 of the members, and as the camera spins around, you see the other 6 members. In the Korean version, you see the EXO-K (Korean) members featured first in the two groups. and if you watch the EXO-M (Mandarin Chinese) version, you will see the EXO-M members featured more prominently. (Anything that takes place before 2014, you will see all 12 original members involved.) However, what is even more impressive about "Growl", is the fact that they filmed 4 versions of the "Growl" MV, so not only did they have to perfect the dance in the Korean performance version, but they also had to do it again in the Mandarin version and then again in both the 2nd MV versions. And it wasn't like they could use the same footage, because the Korean and Mandarin versions aren't exactly the same -- the EXO-M and EXO-K members had different parts in each of the MVs -- so that just adds another element to this. EXO actually filmed 5 different videos for the song "Growl." There is still one more video that was released as part of their "Wolf" and "Growl" promotions. There is a drama video that combines their two songs "Growl" and "Wolf" and it's like a mini K-drama that is more like a movie or TV show with a complete story and the members playing characters. Here is a link to the full "Growl" and "Wolf" drama version, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sFCvZUSnuus.html. Plus, there are several iconic live performances of "Growl" as well. If you notice, the camera movements are actually part of the choreography, because the camera is another character in the performance. Just like in EXO's "Wolf" and "Call Me Baby" MVs, etc., the camera is supposed to represent the girl that they are singing to. So that is why they are looking at the camera so intensely because they are trying to get the girl's attention. They are each trying to impress her with their moves. If you look up an English lyric video for "Growl" you will see EXO are pretty much acting like a wolf or beast that can no longer control themselves around the girl, and they are warning her to be careful because all she does is make them want to growl and grab her and possess her, etc. "I’m warning you just in case (listen carefully) It’s dangerous now (so dangerous) Stop provoking me (there’s going to be trouble) I don’t even know myself ... My breath keeps on stopping You walk towards me You smile at me Maybe you’re attracted to me too .... A dark shadow has woken up inside of me Sparks fly in my eyes as I look at you Everyone step away from her (step away) It’s going to get fierce from now on I’m growling, growling, growling I’m growling, growling, growling I’m growling, growling, growling If you don’t back away then I don’t care if you get hurt ..." etc. EXO got so good at this choreography that they were able to perform the whole thing live on award shows and music programs just like they did in the MV, all while singing live as well. You should also check out their Beauty and Beast performance at the 2013 MAMA awards to see how impressive they perform the full "Growl" choreography live, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ycql_T6Fc9c.html. "Growl" and their one-take performance is what launched EXO into superstardom and it's what made them the most popular group in Korea. It's one of the reasons why the government has given EXO the title of Korea's national boy group. However, "Growl" came out in 2013, about a year after EXO debuted, and up until that point EXO wasn't very well known or popular. When they first debuted, many people called them "SM's biggest mistake." Because the concept of them being aliens from Planet Exo and the fact that they were designed specifically to debut in both Korea and China and several foreign Chinese members were chosen specifically to make up their own sub-unit, etc., many people had a hard time understanding how EXO would ever be successful. The group started out being branded as SM's first failure, and they thought Lee SooMan (the founder of SM) was crazy for coming up with the group. But when the one-take video for "Growl" was released, everyone began to take notice. This video was pretty groundbreaking, no group had done a one take video quite like this and it proved to the mainstream audiences that SM really did know what they were doing. Now everyone in Korea and around the world knows EXO and they have become one of the most popular groups that are one of the biggest money-makers for SM. "Growl" has become what they are most known for. "Growl" is nicknamed South Korea's second national anthem, so you may start to notice that you hear it used everywhere. It's played all over the place and is used as background music, etc. in a lot of things. EXO even performed this song, along with their song "Power," at the closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics in 2018, and both songs were Olympic theme songs that could be heard at venues and events throughout the games that year. EXO was the only Kpop group to be asked to perform at the Olympics that year, which just goes to show you how influential and popular they have become.
Most of the adlibs are by D.O. And when luhan left ( the one who did the first part of the bridge) D.O. Do it instead of him, plz watch the live performance in japan
This song is back from when EXO had 12 members. EXO-Ls still love it even though they only have 9 members now. This song also gave Chanyeol the nickname “3 minutes and a second”
That’s the minute Chanyeol came into the camera. He complained that he was always stuck in the back since his choreography wasn’t the best. He admits to watching those few seconds over and over-at least 500 times 😄
Initially, the EXO was called the SM failure. However, the band did not stop working, being newcomers they showed strong vocals and synchronicity as a group. And when EXO came out with a new album and the title song Growl a year after their debut, they made a revolution in k-pop. They broke the record by selling this album over 1 million copies for the first time in 19 years. Only those who were in 2013 know how crazy Korea was about the song Growl. They began to pave the way for k-pop in the world. Even now, there is no one who does not know this song. You can watch the live performance of EXO Ko Ko Bop + Growl + Baekhyun and Xiumin Dance Battle!
Yeah! Finally EXO!!! During the video there is a kai glitch. He drops his cap and surreptitiously while he dances, he picks it up again and puts it on. He makes it so natural that no one notices.
There is already 50 reaction video for exo in this channel aaaa how i feel just yesterday I watched your first exo reaction killing voice I'm officially addicted your reactions 😭😭😭✌️keep going
Growl is EXO's breakthrough song. Sold over a million copies making EXO the first Korean act to do so in 12 years! Over 2M digital downloads as well. I wish I had known them back then.. I would have sold a kidney to watch their concerts here back then.. hehe
D.O. is a master vocalist, but his backing vocals in Growl need special mention. Just so satisfying to hear him belt. I love this "one-take" video, I love following the caps, I love Chanyeol becoming renowned as the 3.29 guy (I think it's 3.29) as everyone wanted to know who's the guy at 3 min 29 sec. Thanks Pierre.
Yes, Growl is called South Korea's second national anthem song because everybody ( from young to old at all age) knows this song back then and so popular at that time. Until these days, Idols still do covers of this song. And Growl is the song that brings popularity to EXO. And I would like to recommend you to do a video for EXO's performance at winter Olympic in South Korea. I hope you would like it. I'm looking forward to your upcoming videos and have a good day, Pierre!
The first song by EXO that I heard after watching the kdrama 'Goblin'. Didn't look back after that! 😊I remember noticing Kai's dance & how sharp and unique he was. This song & Channie's 'Stay With Me' (Goblin drama OST) are used for EXOL recruitment😄
Thank you for your reaction! You can't imagine what a rush there was in Korea when Growl came out. It was this song that became the beginning of the path of EXO. A legendary song that is even now a k-pop anthem!
The aggressive backing voice you've heard is Chanyeol. He did that also on Killing Voice. I suggest you watch their performance at the Olympics wherein they perform Growl and Power.
Growl! The song that bring EXO to stardom. From here on they are undefeated until 2017. Its a freakin phenomena. The whole industry is in their pocket for 5 years. Something unheard of in kpop until them
exo has been making news since their debut but growl really put them on the map and everyone loves this song even after 10+yrs. hope u watch the more recent growl set live performance in seoul elyxion, that was a good one ❤
Chanyeol once said that he'd watched his part 500 times😂😂😅 Thanks for NEONREACTION!!! What will be next? (Chanyeol vs. Punch "Stay with me" ost live version)🙈
I know you only react to music but D.O is also excellent actor even if you don't react to to it you should still give it a try in your free time. You'd be plesently surprised.
This song made me a solid L! Its ahead of its time, even if you release it now it’ll still sound timeless. I can still remember how EXO was global during this release, I swear EXO was everywhere
I suggest Electric Kiss. The dance practice version. They always say they don’t like doing this one because the choreography is so demanding. But it’s a fantastic song. Does anyone know if they’ve done it live. The mv is really short.
The "Nanana" which you noticed in the background was also DO, I think. You're consistent :p The live version is so good because instead of that keyboard doing the repeating motif, it uses a horn section playing, like, gritty hbcu style, and it's so fun!
Senin tepkilerine bayılıyorum gercek anlamda nokta atışları yapiyorsun. Cok basarilisin Pierre seni tebrik ediyorum. Ve lutfen daha fazla EXO izlemeye devam et
6:18 THIS is the part DO was talking about when discussing parts where no one can replace him or do better 😃 he does it so much better live, it really sounds like a growl, hence DO’s growl :) So.. Call Me Baby next, then? 😄
I tell you this only take one shot only ... As far as I know, there is no other group that can make a music video with just one action. Whatever great new or old groups is out there, they still can't compete with EXO, EXO is a group that is almost close to the word perfect Can you react to Jekyll (exo B side song from album obsession). can you imagine if exo was paid more attention by the agency... exo's budget is always minimal, it could be said that agents like how they treat exo with....with a minimal budget exo has rocking kpop to the world imagine if with maximum budget .
Please react to EXO's live performances like "EXO - Drop That + Keep On Dancing + Lucky + Run The EXO'rDIUM IN JAPAN TOKYO". I'm sure everyone will like it because Chanyeol plays the guitar there, and the performance is very cool❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️ And also make a reaction to the video “EXO(엑소)- LIGHTSABER + TRANSFORMER + Overdose” ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️
Please listen to EXO-Jekyll next. From Obsession album. It's a B-side. No official music video for it. But the song is amazing. Even that feels like an understatement.
