Love the way you do your videos! Seem more interesting in Washington and Oregon than the experience people have going north. You and Cinnamon are a great team, and her smile will brighten anyone’s day!

Most of the NoBo's are worn out and ready to be done by then. That, or the slow ones, who may have enjoyed the trail a bit too much 😂, are racing winter. SoBo is a great way to go thought the fires these days make it really tough. Gotta get through early.

I'm just loving your video series, the scenery and the great relationship you struck up with Cinnamon. You guys rock! What a fabulous and well-earned adventure. I love the saying, "hike your own hike". It's a good philosophy for how to live your own life. Wishing you both all the best!

I noticed you said little throughout - you allowed the nature, the trail and the edit to speak. I really enjoyed that sat here in rainy old England. Beautiful. All the best. Mark

Another great video, Ryan. Love the footage and editing. The Eagle Creek alternate was amazing, but the climb back to the main route was tough. I definitely remember reaching that summit on Indian Mountain and getting the first panoramic views of Oregon. And the buffet at Timberline was as good as people say, especially after pushing big miles. Looking forward to the rest of your PCT series.

Thank you! What an amazing hike and brutal climb indeed! That buffet... even after a weekend off for trail days was still sooo good. Did you find Oregon as flat as everyone said? 🙄
@DavidWisehart
@DavidWisehart Год назад
@@RyanKodakBrown Oregon was tougher than it was billed. Maybe a little flatter, but the lava rocks made up for it in terms of difficulty. That, and the longer water carries, made it a different kind of challenge.

Great start of Oregon episode. Brought back so many memories--I did that Mt Hood to Columbia Gorge section on a Sierra Club trip. We didn't get to have that awesome brunch on our trip though!

What a beautiful section! It's also very challenging and maybe more so if y'all were going down! What a climb/descent that is! I'm sure it was a beautiful experience being a group hike as well. I've found that it's people that make a trip really special. ✌️

Did you happen to bump into Jupiter on the trail?!!! He's killing it with many 40 mile days!
@RyanKodakBrown
@RyanKodakBrown Год назад
Not on the PCT, but I crossed paths with him on the AZT earlier in the year! He was kocking out 40's then, too, hiking off into sunsets.

Did you do this just after PCT Days? A friend and I came down from Timberline a couple of days before PCT Days. I'm not sure whether that section is tougher going up or coming down, just a different set of muscles lol
@RyanKodakBrown
@RyanKodakBrown Год назад
I did! I walked into Casade Locks just in time for the celebration then left the Monday after. Up is harder, in a way, but I find that going down hurts more! Did y'all stay for PCT days?

@@RyanKodakBrown That's a good summation: it's hard going up and hurts going down lol Yes, we were at PCT Days. We did Timberline to Cascade Locks the prior Sunday to Tuesday, then went to my home for a couple days before PCT Days. I live on the west side of Portland and volunteer on trails in the Mt Hood Wilderness areas, so I was volunteering in a booth that Friday and Saturday.
