In the past couple of years it got a lot easier to find good and nice vegan food. I don’t know so much about Italy but in Germany they realised that a lot of people actually choose vegan or vegetarian options over meat. Still, meat of course is a huge cultural factor and not so easy to get people to not eat as much as they do rn. For me, the most difficult thing to find during travels around Europe (or actually anywhere) is wheat-free or even gluten-free bread and stuff like that. I don’t really have an allergy but my stomach doesn’t respond very well to wheat. But I‘d miss out on sooo much good and amazing food and would probably half starve if I had to really not eat wheat. I try as good as possible but at some point I just have to eat and more often than not bread or pasta or pizza is the answer. I really hope you can enjoy your stay in Europe. Summer is great :) And the food, too ^^

I'm really worried about it, because on the one hand I really want to still be ethical, but also enjoy the culture, and my body reacts really negatively to dairy and stuff now so I was wondering if you had any tips on trying to be vegan while over there even if I have to slip sometimes?

I find it so strange that people suddenly don't care about be vegan when abroad. 😥😥 Italy is not the easiest country to find vegan food, I get that, but Rome in particular is full of vegan places to eat. Just do your research. Abuse and violence against animals does not become acceptable just because you are on vacation. It's sad that RU-vidrs often choose this way when they travel. Feels kinda selfish and lazy. Of course you know what's best for you, but as a long time vegan I don’t really understand.
