As reports of abusive behaviour are on the rise, Stagecoach South East’s managing director, Joel Mitchell, has a special request for bus users - be more kind. For more information click here : stge.co/QBRL30q...
I had my first day today with stagecoach in Bristol. It was a nightmare. The depo manager,he didn't remember me,that he asked me to start 8am today. We went for a break 2pm. I asked 3 people, how long the break they didn't know. After our break they said to us to go home. Unorganized,I don't think I will stay here.
I've worked for Stagecoach, they couldn't give a rats ass about drivers. True story, a 20 year old pregnant driver was assaulted, did they ban the regular offender? I'll let you guess.....
hi stagecoach i used to live in herne bay and used to get the bus everyday and one day when im oldenough im gonna try work for u as you are nice and i like ur buses
Also remember it dosent cost money to be friendly and helpful to travellers. Drivers can be unhelpful, impatient, miserable and unfriendly. It goes both ways. A great job if you can drive around without passengers. Oh hang on, thats what some buses already do in MK.
“Fantastic bus service” it’s far from it, far too overpriced for pretty much a lift round the corner and buses are rarely on time. I don’t condone the abuse toward the drivers however as it’s not the drivers fault that the service provided is shoddy, more the management of stagecoach.
Yeah like Herne Bay to Whitstable is £6.60 when a train is £4.20 bus shouldn't cost more than a train, I personally think we should have the same system as London just tap the contactless & pay like £1 something each time you board a bus.
It good in certain places, I seen someone complaining to another bus company driver about prices, about how stagecoach was cheaper and this other thing the other day.
One Stagecoach driver at a big-city depot "oop North" is known to the management for his reluctance to stop for would-be passengers who don't put out their hands at stops. I watched him do it on several occasions, including one instance when he drove past a woman (with a small child in a trolley) struggling with her brolly in pouring rain at a stop not served by any other service. There was no nearby shelter and she faced a 30-minute wait. The driver may have a personality disorder causing his peculiar behavior and might be better employed on other duties that keep him away from the public, but he's still driving.
Do keep in mind that Stagecoach as a business doesnt pay or regulate its staff very well at all. Stagecoach bus drivers are sometimes rude and miserable and sometimes unnecessarily provoke the commuter and the fares are stupidly high if you dont have a some sort of a bus card (which itself costs a lot and the cost has been increasing every year). The bus business isnt even decreasing that badly and they are literally exploiting the fact it is by raising fares higher than they are supposed to be. Lastly, Stagecoach clearly hasn't changed anything about its buses or its management atleast 5 years except introducing contactless pay and increasing its fares which shows that the management clearly does not care about the quality of its service despite it getting many and many valid negative reviews. In short, Stagecoach would rather enact policies which are not guaranteed to look as if they actually care about bus drivers (Cos they dont, they only see them as generated income). Edit: Forgot to mention, Stagecoach buses are known to be notoriously late even in low traffic areas. A result of poor management and careless drivers
I agree this shouldn't happen. But you must understand how rude the drivers can be. I could right a list if you would like? Works both ways. So the attitude down here is how rude South East drivers are and how unhelpful they are. So maybe look closer to home. Just saying.
