According to the non-dual teachings of Advaita Vedanta, the true self, atma, has no caste, no gender, no nationality, no ethnicity, etc. It is the inner divinity that dwells in us all, equally, identically. The goal of Vedanta's spiritual teachings is to lead you to discover atma and gain moksha, enlightenment. Recognizing your own true nature as atma, you will recognize the same in everyone else.
