A Spot On "Poodlefall" (101 Dalmatian Street s01e22a) - What to do when your D&D character dies 

Dolly does not understand the conception of character death in a tabletop role-playing games. it's not merely a game, Dolly; it's telling a story. When a character dies in such a game, there's no reset button, no do over, no extra lives. Poodlewolf is dead; the next time Dylan plays the game, Poodlewolf will still be dead. He was killed; Bringing him back would require exceeding difficulty. Plus the fact like Dylan was playing that character for years and is practically a part of his soul and the death just broke him. I am a simple person getting into D&D and watching Dylan's character get perma-death by Dolly's stupid actions just made me overall hate her for the entirety of the episode even after they brought the character back from the grave. Those are just my two cents though. Awesome review, Tricky Fox!

I'd assume that the final encounter with the BBEG is likely built around the party drinking the invulnerability potion since it's a premade module and they aren't always the most flexible. While giving the potion to the villain isn't technically making him better, it makes Poodlewolf and co weaker leading towards Poodlewolf's death. It isn't what I would call a well-made encounter but if Poodlewolf was supposed to drink it(seeing how he is more or less the main character of the game) then it is technically Dolly's fault for throwing it.

I too noticed a lot of D&D episodes on shows. Mostly from Dreamworks Netflix cartoons.

I am one year late but why all the hate on dolly ? She had no idea how important poodlewolf was for Dylan and once she understood how much he was hurt, she was determined to fix her mistakes. Sure, she was annoying at the start of the episode but kids are insensitive sometimes. Did anyone here ever had siblings?

Hey, just wanted to say thank you for the great review! You got the dogs down :) Also, I do think it's Dolly's fault. The shield potion was supposed to protect the party from the Permadeath furballs, which they knew Furball possessed (established at the beginning of the ep). When Dolly used the potion on Furball, she gave the party's shield to the enemy, essentially sealing their doom. Furball would have had to be particularly UN-lucky to miss - he's a boss monster, not some minion - and he didn't. So I do think Dolly is to blame.

I like this show, but I didn't like this episode much. Poodlewolf was miles better.
