I have watched you for YEARS, pretty much since your start on RU-vid. I am pregnant with my first baby (currently 17 weeks) and think it is SO sweet that you are just ahead of me- it is so cool, inspiring, and encouraging to follow along. Love and prayers for a continued blissful pregnancy!!!

As a vision teacher, sunglasses are good at protection for the eyes from developing cataracts ❤

ALWAYS wear your sunnies ! I’ve grown a tiny bump on my eyeball beneath my pupil and my Optometrist/Ophthalmologist informed me it’s sun damage from not wearing my sunglasses ( also can occur from aging ) . I wear contacts now so I can’t be outdoors without sunglasses due to light sensitivity but the damage has already been done . Just like protecting your skin , also protect your eyes . Thought I’d just pass on the information . Love from Texas

Your videos always brighten my day, and this one is no exception. 💖 If I may, I'd like to suggest that you continue wearing sunglasses regularly, as your eyesight, *even on overcast days*, will be damaged by UV rays; you may not notice it immediately, but it adds up overtime, forming cataracts, cancers of the eyelid, and/or increased risk for age-related macular degeneration. Perhaps wear sunglasses and reapply sunscreen every two hours, so that both your skin and eyesight are protected? Hope you find a solution that works for you!

Loved this, and always love your videos! But please don't neglect the sunglasses! Protecting your eyes from UV radiation is important unless you want cataracts, impaired vision, or increased risk of certain eye diseases (including melanoma of the eyes). Glasses for the eyes, sunscreen or clothing for the body.

I've heard the sunglass concept also.. but I will say the Florida sun over the years will cause you to have cataracts. So it's very important if you live in Florida to wear your sunnies.. and this is from an opthamologist.. and I trust his knowledge..

Allison, Wear sunglasses while in the sun. The ozone layer is very thin now. That being said the ultra violet rays are extremely powerful and can and sometimes does cause our eye lenses to get burned. People who wear prescription glasses should honestly get the transitions. That way the sun wont damage there eyes. Believe me... I used to have regular prescription glasses before transitions. Because of that my eye got burned from the sun and I received what my optomitrist called a penguiculah. Where sunglasses. & sunscreen #50 or 60. Hope this helps everyone.

Allison, I just want to say that I love your video so much and they are so relaxing. You’re attitude in life is just beautiful and watching you go through everything in your life, from the struggles to the joys, is admirable As I was watching you make your blueberry muffins I thought of sharing a couple of tips with you. In my flower container, I keep a chopstick stuck in it that way whenever I need to get a cup of flour, I just use the chopstick as a leveler. When I’m done, I just pop it back in. Also, before I add fruit to a muffin or cake mix, I gently toss them in flour and then some in the wet mixture, gently stirring them in. This seems to help the fruit not sink to the bottom of the batter. Another tip I do is I place my fruit in a container that has water and vinegar in it. I swish the fruit around making sure everything is covered. Then I sprinkle baking soda on top and that, of course, reacts to the vinegar. I gently swish the fruit around and wait about 5 to 10 minutes depending on the fruit. Then I gently rinse with water and lay out on a cloth towel to dry for about 15 minutes and then I put them in mason jars. I’ve been able to keep berries for at least 2 to 3 weeks. When I wash larger fruit like apples and pears, etc. I just placed them in a fruit bowl when I’m done I don’t put them in mason jars. Once again, thank you for all you do. I’m looking forward to following your motherhood journey and I wish the best for you and your family.

So interesting about the sunglasses thing! In Australia we have to wear 50+ though if we are in the sun all day as the sun is brutal here lol but I do like to have around 1 hour of no sunscreen time for vitamin D goodness when I can

Cattle fencing is super sturdy cause cows can get through almost anything. Try finding wire horse fencing. It comes in rolls and is lighter and bendable. As far as the sunglasses go. Idk about the melanin thing you were talking about, but I work outside in FL and can’t manage well without them. But I also wear them to help keep the sun from aging my skin around my eyes and to keep me from squinting, which would also age my eyes.

Allison your friend is exactly right about sunglasses and it interfering with the brain and your body being able to protect you from the sun! melanin absorbs harmful UV rays and protects against cellular damage from UV light exposure, plus you soak up all the vitamin D 🌞 I haven’t burned since doing this but of course I’m also mindful and practice safe sun exposure, I love the dminder app, it’s amazing for helping you to get enough vitamin d while practicing safe sun exposure 🌞🤍

I think the milkweed near the patio was growing faster bc of moisture. Maybe the front ones are drying out faster and need more water.

The sunglasses thing is so true! Last summer I was out in the sun for 4 hours (southern Indiana sun so not as bad as florida but) I didn’t have any sunscreen on! I only got tan! A really good tan!

The sun is so so good for us!! I'm glad you are not scared of it like most young women these days. I'm not sure about the sunglasses other than its good not to wear them at least initially as its good for the eyes and the circadian rhythm....I also limit use as much as possible. My homeopathy doctor told me the same thing about limiting my sunglasses wear in the sun. I haven’t been wearing them as much myself. It has been a noticeable positive difference in my opinion.

When I was pregnant for some reason I got some sun spots on my hands from going to the beach but they disappeared shortly after my son was born! Turns out that you produce more melanin while pregnant 🫶🏼

I am so surprised that Florida can grow such large sunflowers (or any sunflowers) so early in the year (April). I never knew that. We are just now getting a few warm days in SoCal (low 70s.)

when I was pregnant I remember reading that you are more prone to sunburns while pregnant.. the site I was on seemed legit but still could be a myth so who knows but just something to keep in mind especially living in the sunshine state!
