I love my late 80s "Monitor Series 2600" amp. The cats do too and enjoy it as a heated sleeping platform. I'm sure it is capable of putting out enough watts to blow my eardrums, but alas I live in a condo and can't test that. NADs are great amps for not a lot of money. Thanks for your tests.
I have a polaroid from the late 80s of my cat asleep on my 3020. I still have the 3020, but no longer have to take the lid off to hoover it every six weeks.... 😞
the sweeps on the 3020.... mine doesn't do that. I would have a suspicion that someone has swapped out some caps in the audio path &- possibly thinking it was a good idea, based on how one might install bigger filter caps in a PSU, replaced them with larger values, when that hump at 125Hz had been designed out.... just an idea. could also be caps going bad.... but the symmettry of it....🤔
