It's extremely rare that I ask for RU-vid videos to be longer but I think yours could be. Especially let us indulge in the beautifully crafted final product.
I"m here from your gift video for Van. I subscribed. Makers fascinate me. I don't have the patience for it but I really enjoy the thought that goes into the design process. I don't smoke but love the way you integrated the rolling papers into the lid. Keep getting after it.
NGL, that joint paper dispenser is dope AF. Pothead friends have the greatest ideas. Have you considered using metal or acrylic in the next iterations? Copper or brass with your brand in it would be dope AF
I like the dot of patterned plywood in the grinder hole. It is a nice little detail that fills the center hole from the drill and ties it back to the lid.
Man this reminded me so much of being young in a shop and doing stuff like this. Then the world smashes your soul and you go decades without doing anything creative.
Your videos are unlike any other wood working content on youtube - they're not just amazing videos showing the process of the build , but they're full on superb films in their own right - the fantastic end result with the box is the icing on the cake - very well done!
Nice box and video, but a few suggestions. You mention a grinder spot during the video. You should show the grinder in place at the end like you did the rolling papers. You should also have had your friend critique the final object. Or maybe have your friend use the box as a prototype before the box was finished. I’m not a smoker either, but shouldn’t part of the box include an airtight container for the goods? Looking forward to more interesting content!
I see what you mean regarding taste; I personally think (not that what I think matters) that it looks a little disjointed with the patterned plywood and the oak, *but* both separately are absolutely superb. I also don’t smoke, but the box interior is so nicely done and I’m glad you managed to sort the hinges out in the end. Great job and I’m look forward to seeing what you do next (although, I’ve already watched the tool chest, so it’ll be the video after that).
I love when RU-vid suggests a video like this. Absolutely beautiful what you created. I wish I could see more videos in the genre of high quality videos, with cinematography, greats shots and beautiful ending of what the person, people or whoever, created.
Man, this channel is fantastic. The editing and story telling is great! That stash box is very cool, love the detail on the lid. Makes me want to get back into woodworking.
Dude I love your videos! from a makers point of view you gave us the whole run down from ideation, meaning, process + method of how the design comes to life. Keep it up bro, it's heaps inspiring!
the pacing of the video, ironic to the name of the channel, is so so fast, there is not a moment where i am left to dwell in my sorrows haha it’s wonderful good job!
