Wonderful those train to pass-away, of course is made a new Metropolitan Line look better same way. But sadly is loss old metropolitan line again!!! What a heart breaking!!!
Fantastic archive footage! It is a pity the A Stock can't have a more dignified end, leaving by Aylesbury rather than being put on trailers at Northwood.
Ironic seeing A Stock at Aylesbury seeing the Met line used to serve there until 1961 when the A stocks came into service Aylesbury only had steam met trains until then
The Metropolitan Railway eventually reached Rickmansworth with its electrification, where steam continued onto Amersham/Chesham/Aylesbury/Quainton Rd. & Verney Jn. Cost/demand was the main factor, with the Met Railway only reaching Rickmansworth and it only now reaching Amersham & Chesham
