Hi Luke, Greetings from Mexico. I am backpacker and hiker too. Let me tell you what happened to me once. I was hiking in my favorite place, "El chico" National Park, Hidalgo State, Mexico. So, I was exploring in a place what I never was before. After walking a couple of hours through the forest I big rock blocked my way, It was no too much steepy and decided to climbing it. This rock had two steepy sides. I didn't know that a Lynx was climbing the same rock from the other side. Both of us reached the top of the rock at the same time, in the same place!. Our faces nearly crash into each other and we both stopped any move. We both was there, staring each other. None of us moves, only ours breathing noises. That was a very beautiful Lynx, big green eyes, big paws. After a few seconds, the Lynx just turned to his right side and started to walk slowly. I stayed there ,very still, until I lost sight of the lynx. That was a very exiting and odd encounter in the woods.

Yes! I had the same thought, too. If you want to make a few recordings to show things of interest, I think I would be cool with that. Luke, I think you have so much respect from your viewers they would feel like they would be intruding on an intimate trip between you and Susie, even if you did plan the trip to do an episode of TOGR.

My brother was struck by lightning when he was 27 yrs old back in the 70’s. He is still alive today at age 75. He was hospitalized for 6 months and it effected his speech. He survived and other than sounding like he’s drunk 24/7 he has been fairly healthy.

It gives me ideas on what to cook for dinner. Sometimes I imagine I'm camping out in the wilderness in a tent along with you all. I've had family that told stories of having had encounters with BF. Love your stories. We need more of that. I'd rather watch you all than mainstream TV. Keep on trekking!

Your gear reviews are consistently engaging, Luke; informative, well-edited and impress me as trustworthy and honest. This video was somewhat special. I rarely get outdoors -- as in I almost never leave my home. Watching this, I felt I was out there with you, enjoying the company of a good friend in a beautiful place and listening to his stories and fond memories. Sure sounds like you have been living a great life. I hope you and your wife do get to go back to Hawaii. Just keep living the dream. Peace and prosperity to you and yours, Luke.

While my health issues and Arthritis limit what I can do these days compared to my very active younger life(hunting ,fishing and camping) all over the Southern United States, I have been solo camping and camping and fishing with an old buddy of mine several times a year over the past three years. You and Suzie are such positive role models for the young folks and are still inspiring us seniors. . .Thanks again Brother!

Hi Luke, I really am impressed with the way you “chop” wood for your fire..hands and feet are your tools. You really have such cool equipment, something differet every time..I just love the way you unpack little bags that that expand into a fully furnished camp. That sleeping bag outfit is the way to go. The light strip you hang up in your camps seem like magic, what an invention! i wish we had those when we were camping with our kids in the ‘70’s..Your description of the canine you saw and your intuitive caution and fear, fits descriptions of a huge gray wolf-creature that has no fear of humans and takes what it wants, like cattle and can not be injured or killed with bullets and scares the hell out of people at a place called Skinwalker Ranch. way out West somewhere. i am sorry you didn’t get enough snow this winter, i would have gladly sent you all of ours if i could. it lfeels like spring is here in NW WA, very early and very cold but the trees are awake.🌲🌲🌲🌲

I spent most of my time as a kid in my tree house or in the woods on our 67 acre place in upstate NY, so I know where you're coming from. I used to love being outside during a thunderstorm, the more lightning, the better I liked it! I've seen ball lightning too, and it's a very real phenomenon, but I've never really heard an explanation of how it forms or what it does. Keep up the good work, and enjoy!

My world is packing thursday night, doing last minute checks friday after work, and still finding out i have forgot something, i envy the organization, if you are a fulltime content creator and being this prepared is what you do for a living, hats off, enjoy it, but its not the reality I live in, i will always have to improvise for what I didnt bring, its just who I am Cheers

Back in the early 90's we were at the Great Smoky Mountain Trail Ride with the Land Cruiser Club in Tellico Plains Tennessee. We were in a huge group camp, I and some friends were sharing a fire pit. We had our dogs or at least most of us. It was dark and this guy comes in late and pulls up next to us. He is at least 6'8" and he has a grey wolf with him. This was the biggest K9 I had ever seen. The dogs were trying to hide under our legs. They had this weird air about them, like a darkness. I don't know but he eventually left and we all let out a sigh of relief. Weirdest thing ever in the woods for me.

Hi Luke Great video ( as usual) looks like a wonderful Tarp and what an awesome location.. I have had some stretching in tarps before and i think you touched upon this. The larger the tarp the greater the chance for strectching ! Anyways, i have been thinking and i have just created some stretch cord ( bungee cord 3/16" - cut into 32 " length - unstrectched) then tied the 2 ends together to form a loop, this gives a double cord approx 12" - 14" long as you will lose 6-8 inches for the knots and protruding ends. I plan to attach these to the tarp and then leave them in place, then i can just clip my lines straight to them, and as and when the tarp stretches, the bungee cord will keep a constant tension and take up any slack. Finally as a bonus, if winds become strong they will also give a little and go right back once the gust (gusts) have past. Just a thought from me , it is what i'm right now putting together 4 of these for the main tie off points. Wonderful adventure - as always looking forward to the next!

Nice one Luke👍👍 Semi dry and realistically fairly decent for the most part. I was expecting horrible winds trying to tear your tarp apart and torrential rain but that didn't happen. Enjoyed the chit chat, listening to some memorable moments from times past. Great video as always, well done, thanks for the trip. See ya next time.

Speaking of lightning, we lived in Lehigh Acres. Seen some awesome lightning shows for sure. Awesome but terrifying at the same time. 😬
