A first-person walking tour of the German, fairy-tale, medieval Rothenburg o. d. Tauber!
Marrow Tower
It is probably also known as the Thieves' Tower.
Construction time: around 1200, the roof was added later. Used as a prison tower until 1844. On the south side remains of the former pillory. Tower height 27 m. The slanting position behind the ring wall and next to the passing street suggests independent planning.
Röderbogen
Elevated continuation of the battlement, probably remains of a stronger gate construction for drawbridge and portcullis. Remains of a former bridge can be found under today's pavement.
Construction time: around 1560.
