A Sturdy 11% Monthly Dividend Fund Nobody Talks About

My Portfolio: / dividendbull
In this video we’re gonna take a look at a high paying monthly dividend investment that I never see anyone talk about. Which I think is strange, because considering all of the features it has, and the long track record it has, I think you’ll also wonder why you never hear anyone talk about it. This fund not only yields over 11%, and pays monthly dividends, but it’s also been around for nearly 30 years and has never missed a dividend payment. And up until recently, for several decades, this fund even beat the S&P 500.

I feel investors should be focusing on under-the-radar stocks, and considering the current rollercoaster nature of the stock market, Because 35% of my $270k portfolio comprises of plummeting stocks which were once revered and i don't know where to go here out of devastation.

My dividend journey began when I realized that two particular expenses in my budget were always going to go up and never go down. The two expenses were taxes and insurance. I realized that the dramatic rise in both will need some added income. So, I started buying shares paying dividends. I can now see that this will be the path I need to take to make sure those two expenses will not overtake my future income.

As a beginner, educate yourself, Learn the basics of investing and the stock market. There are many resources available online, including books, articles, and online courses. It’s a good idea to diversify your portfolio across different stocks and sectors to minimize risk. I’ve heard of people accruing over $550k during recessions and inflation, its important to do your own research.

Rate cuts commence in June 2024, taking 6-8 months to complete. A potential crash, if any, might occur by March 2025. The soft landing narrative is gaining traction, making this big recession everyone is calling for less likely. With $1 million from a business sale, I'm seeking profitable investment opportunities for the next 3 years.

I like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends. The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or when ever you can afford to. This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock. That’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income

I have been a dividend focused investor for a long time. This does not mean I don't own growth stocks, I do. A well rounded portfolio should be a mixture of both categories. One way to minimize the anxiety out of stock market investing, is to make sure you keep a large cash cushion. I invest in the market, but never put all my money in market.

Why would I want 11% and a bit of potential gains when VOO returned 24% last year?
@MusouInken
@MusouInken 3 месяца назад
Including the unusual spike we're living through in the S&P 500 the ten year average for VOO is just south of 13%. That's pretty similar to several dividend funds, and this video's point is that if you reinvest the dividends you receive you can end up surpassing that rate in the long term.
@stuinvests
@stuinvests 3 месяца назад
@@MusouInken yes but if it stays in VOO, then I don’t have to pay taxes on that 13% until I take it out, which can be slowly overtime. If I get dividends at 10% I’m paying taxes on those dividends. So I’m making even less. *12% per year will always be more than 10%.
@MusouInken
@MusouInken 3 месяца назад
@@stuinvests That depends. If your investments are in a retirement account like a 401k or a Roth IRA, which I think probably covers most people, those dividends are not taxed until later. Or, in the case of the Roth, at all.

And so you decided to ask the Internet? LOLZ. Yeah, that's where all the greats go to get investment tips. Anyway, I would advise you to dump whatever you have into T-bills. The one month maturity is offering 5.3% with zero risk. This will put your money to work while you learn. But I can assure you, that watching videos and asking for advice on the Internet is a great way to lose money. If you're serious, you're going to have to get some books on the fundamentals and you'll need to learn how to analyze stocks and funds (it's not so hard).

Hard pass. 11% is NOT sufficient for the risk of investing in junk bonds, and debt derivatives. Coupled with a loss of 42% of principle since inception, it's a loser. Imagine if you'd dumped 100K in 30 years ago, it would now be worth only 58K and the dividend payouts over those thirty years would barely compensate for inflation and the loss of capital. Not to mention the opportunity costs of having invested in something that didn't suck.

@juliancate7089
@juliancate7089 4 месяца назад
Wow. I don't know how much you're making, but if you have a job that pays the average of 35K per year, you'll need at least 450K to replace that income and that is without any reinvestment. Furthermore, you need to accept that anything you dump into high-dividend stocks will not enjoy any capital appreciation and you need to be weary of funds that pay out dividends from capital rather than earnings. If the dividend is not 100% covered by earnings, do not invest.
