this year, once again, i was commissioned by my favorite artist of IG Sarah Simon ( @SarahSimon-TheMintGardener ) to make more sketchbooks for her Fall Creative Retreat. just like last year, we agreed to breathe new life to damaged book covers by turning them to drawing journals but with a slight moderation. we decided to use embossing technique to turn boring, plain book covers into something sparkling and unique.
here is a quick video, highlighted my summer long project making sketchbooks for Sarah with the focus on how i used rubber stamps, embossing powder and a heat gun to turn 42 plain book covers into shimmering fauna and flora cover designs.
i hope you like the video and find the process satisfying.. please let me know if you have any questions or comments about this simple yet fascinating technique, i will try my best to answer them.
thank you so much for spending the time.
