this is me being jaded. I live in Wotton, just up the road from Shere and I was there today and I thought it would be more rustic. I have been all over the UK over the past 7 years and seen a lot of places like Shere
Too popular with weekend tourists. Also, pretty spoiled by parked cars. Trouble is everyone living there has two cars and nowhere to park them except on the street. Parts are still rustic however, like the area round the ford..
Was in Shere (visiting London from Toronto) when a friend brought me there October of 2019. We didn't see a lot of what you have in your video, only what would I suppose would be the centre of the village. Very nice!
Thanks, you might be interested in lookng up a movie I saw last night on TV - "The Holiday" wth Cameron Diaz, partly filmed in Shere. Not a great movie but interesting for the location.
@@mikeos1 Thank you. That reminds me- there's also a funny scene of Peter O'Toole and a bunch of people singing and dancing around a tree (in the centre of the village) singing 'Dem Bones, Dem Dry Bones' filmed in Shere from the movie 'The Ruling Class'. I saw the tree- quite a bit bigger now! p.s. Happy New Year over there!
@@JoeSzilagy Thanks, same to you. Another addition - "Reunion in Fairborough" with Robert Mitchum and best of all "The Earth Dies Screaming" about an alien invasion, in Shere, if you can believe it! www.imdb.com/title/tt0058050/reviews?ref_=tt_urv
