I love the flounce. I’ve been adding gathers to the bottom of clothes that are too short. Now I’m going to master the flounce!

Wow, you managed to do that without taking the garment apart and reconstructing it. That saves so much work and avoids so many potential problems. Nice job.

I've been mulling over how to improve one of my cosplays as the default vanilla version is flat and bland for the character I'm supposed to portray.. and this is what I needed. Thank you!

Great tutorial -thank you. Can you tell me whether I can do a shorter flounce of similar fullness that turns toward the neck/lays against the chest or neck? I have a dress that has a 1" gathered trim on the neckline and I wonder if I can do this with a short, full flounce instead. Can I just baste it as you sewed yours, lay a facing piece over it, and turn it towards the body (and the facing folds under and is understitched)? Thanks for your advice!

Could you use this technique to add sleeves to a shirt?

Totally!! You can make the flounces as long as you want.

Being male, I've never considered flounces, but your enthusiasm has made me want them! Is there such a thing as a more masculine flounce?

ha. amazing. HUMMMM.... where can you add flounces..... I guess a cape or like the back of a jacket or shirt. A long "flounce" would be a cape style.
