Hello from Southern Michigan in the U.S. My Pioneer is P131 and Daisey is wearing a red top and white shorts. As far as the chrome bit on the right front fender, that is where the AM or AM/FM radio antenna was mounted. An interesting fact about the lack of the radio antennas on the General Lees is, in the episode Daisey's Song, Tom Wopat does a hood slide on the General Lee and as his arm hits the antenna it bends then breaks. The remaining piece cuts his arm. Tom required 40 stitches to his injury. He didn't know he was cut until they finished the scene. You can watch it in the opening credits on any episode. I really enjoyed your video and subscribed to your channel. I also purchased the "dirty version" of the General Lee, and have ordered The Ghost Of General Lee that was released on May 6th of this year.
John Schneider (Bo Duke) was driving a General Lee through my home town a few weekends ago… you could pay to ride around with him in the General Lee. Was pretty cool passing him around town all day.
Actually, the general was not always a manual, the producers took what they could get so there were manual and automatic general lees throughout the show
The “gills” as you called them by the 01 aren’t supposed to be cut out, they are just indents on the real car and highly accurate on the slot car. Also the chrome item on the front fender is indeed an antenna for the radio. The rear antenna is for the CB radio.
Hi Travis. I am not generally a fan of 'the Confederate Flag' but this show was never overtly political - basically just good, clean fun and shenanigans - and Pioneer certainly do make - perhaps the best (?) American muscle cars. The mould of actress Catherine Bach aged 21 is one thing. Most recently she has been seen modelling a black shell suit -now aged 65. I adore my dark blue Pioneer Camaro (No23). This would make a great running mate.
No cash lol , Travis pioneer cars are just fantastic, bit of trivia for you during the filming of dukes of hazard , they would right off general Lee, the best part about pinoeer cars you can use SCALEXTRIC parts fantastic great youtube review regards rhys
Also another thing, you say “back in the day you only need one mirror” this is technically true, but you need the rear view mirror and the drivers side mirror, in the US anyway, still today, it is not illegal to only have one side mirror
I have 10 different Daisy’s with various cars from first release to the 4 dealer specials, my 3 J code pre-production cars don’t have a figure with them.
@@thatslotcarguy I’ve tried to ask in the Pioneer user group where Jules is active but never got a clear answer. From what I can tell is there are different Daisy's used with different releases, and sometimes when they run out of one they put in a different one. A bit frustrating when you are trying to collect them all, and unless it’s a private deal or in person where you can see what you are actually getting there is no guarantee what you will get especially when ordering from a shop online. The daisy you have is the same one that came with my black dealer special car, my latest release car has the white shorts and red tank top. I’ve seen other regular versions of the car non first release that have Daisy figures in don’t have and have never seen for sale. The first release car does not have the front confederate plate and came with a key chain, my first release has a red sleeved shirt and blue shorts on a small dirt base.
Need a track test!! I bought one off eBay brand new looks great but sounds like a bag of nails on the track, must have bought a dud ! That said it’s an amazing looking car
My Daisy Duke has the red top and white shorts. I missed out on the first release of the General Lee, but luckily for me Pioneer re-released it, so I have version P131. Maybe yours is the initial release? Enjoy this great car!
