Im african american, and when I first saw the Circassian dance, several years ago, I simply fell in love with it, and the music. You come away with what the interviewee was saying, the man in the dance, are like showing their masculinity, braveness and boldness, and the women present themselves like beautiful, delecate, porcelain dolls. I truly enjoy watching this dance.
Circassian people are cool. I have some friends of circassian heritage ( altough many of them mixed with locals pretty much they still hold some of their traditions). They see themselves as part of this nation and to be honest we have no problem at all. They embraced us as we embraced them. Their existence is enrichment of my country ^^ I am glad we saved them in 1864 from genocide by the Russians.. They brought us beautiful things and enriched our nation ^^
@webguy8497 They still keep their traditions alive and local people show respect to it ( they are also locals ). Their weddings and dances are being made in school dance shows and people watch them. Also they feel themselves as part of the nation. In history our people were in good terms also. We embraced each other as i said o/
I am an American Circassian, family came from Syria. We live in a more rural area where we may be the only ones in the whole state. It's very alienating and feels so removed from the culture, as much as my father did to teach us what they were we never experienced them. I'm so glad that I came across this video!! Lets me see inside of what I'm missing out on.
I'm American Circassian too (from my Dad's side) and have experienced feeling really removed from the culture as well, though my experience is probably a bit different with how my Dad was barely connected to his Circassian heritage, but ever since diving deeper into that side of the family, a lot still feels very isolated/isolating. But connecting to communities and a network of Adiga friends online has really helped with that, and videos like this that continue to "uncover" us to the world and also connect each other across the diaspora. Anyways, just wanted to say hi and that I vibe on some similar things of what you said!👋
Thank you both so much for sharing your stories!! Culture is truly a bridge between people. I am so happy to see people around the world leaving comments here and sharing their stories. I appreciate all your comments!!
Hello Tugce I am from England and have always been interested in the Circassian peoples, but have never travelled to their old areas of the Caucasus. Your interview with that young man brought up in Jordan was excellent and I was very impressed with his English. I hope to visit Turkey one day and in the meantime I shall wait for more of your video interviews. Thank you and best wishes from Cornwall, England.
Thank you, for this amazing video! I am from Kabardino-Balkaria , so proud of Circassians!Despite the fact that they do not live in their homeland, they do not forget their language, roots, culture. Адыгэ лъэпкъыр псощ, Адыгэ хабзэр псощ!!! 🙏♥️ Сытым деж фыкъеблъагъэж ди адыгэжь щ1ыналъэм!🙏With love from Nalchik,KBR.
Many thanks Tuğçe. ❤️ I'm a Circassian in Turkey and I know our culture. It's nice to see another Circassian in the capital. He explained our culture very well. I hope you make a long video about Circassian history. 🙏🏻❤️ Başarılar!
Hello, I’m American of Iraqi ancestry, did dna test about 3 years ago and came back as 62% Caucasian (schlock to say the least) with a map of heavy concentration in today’s Georgia so naturally I’m interested in their history, origin, battles fought, the czarist 1860 brutal expulsion of their native lands, I’m hungry for knowledge here. I’m hoping you know of or suggest any English literature of their history culture, not much available in English at all other than weddings, dance, cuisine, hardly anything to speak of of significant substance,or a benefit, so please let me know ! Many thanks 🙏-
The biggest issue for Circassians today is the forced assimilation. Those who were slapped to not speak their native language, those who lost their jobs because they spoke their native language, those who were forced to move because they were Circassian will take revenge Music and dance is not enough. Why Turkey doesnt allow elementary schools in Circassian? This is the same right Turks demand for Turkish minorities in other countries Only Russia and Jordan have elementary schools in circassian. It is time for Turkey to live up to their responsibility
@@history_repeats8201 I think you are misinformed. They have optional classes on circassian langauge. Although they are pretty much asimilated into Turkish identity they still hold their values. I as a Turk enjoy their dances and to be honest i dont see them as a different people than mine we pretty much embraced them. ( Ones who live in here).

Everyone needs to know how cruelly the Russian Empire acted towards the Circassians. 90% of the population was killed and deported to the Ottoman Empire, and those remaining in their homeland were divided into 3 entities. Adygea, KBR, KCR. And Russia tried in every possible way to erase from the memory of the Circassians and the world community the non-existence of such a beautiful and flourishing Circassia. Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana, built for the 2014 Olympics, are built on Circassian cemeteries. Red Glade on the Blood of the Circassians. The whole earth is soaked in blood, which is why it is called Red Glade! Every Circassian remembers and cries 🥲159 years and except Georgia, no one recognized the genocide of the Circassians! Damn this cruel Russian world, which destroyed my people for 101 years!😢😢😢
@@Vampybattie They first Mamluks were Oghuz and Chipchak Turks (to a sizeable degree). The second Mamluks were Cuman (Turks) and Circassian (Caucasian)...again constituting a substantial number. The leaders of the Mamluk State were certainly Oghuz, Kipchak, Cuman, Kurds, Circassians etc
Hi ! I'm around 5th generation Circassian from Egypt ... :) I heard that most fighter pilots in Jordan are Circassian and the king's guards are all Circassian too
@@1xyz6992 Sorry , I have no idea... I don't even speak the language. I don't think there is a Social group or anything. Egypt is just a very special place. It's hard to explain... It's the cradle of civilization ... so once you get to know that , what else would you need ? :) + We are Muslims so that's what really counts. Just like religion is not about race or color, Egypt or Misr to be more correct is also not about race or color it has always been about religion. They can take our lands but they will never take out the truth.
@@1xyz6992 I understand your sorrow, Coz I was there too while reflecting on this. But this is life... if it is meant to be then it is meant to be... I encourage you and all the circassian to keep the identity I am definitely not against that. but I'm just saying when a door closes, God can open up so many new doors. Look at Ancient Egypt for example... the Language that lasted to so many years, all of us haven't experience this many years... and the language died at the end ... so what makes a language last... it's not just hard heavy stones, nor is it a mountain of books. It's just holding on to the truth. coz it had been back existing back then and also now. There is nothing greater than religious identity... It has no borders , and wears no culture. Islam means Submission to God Almighty. and what make the Quoran preserved is that it is the truth and it is known by heart no matter who you meet or where you go, it is the same. Once you know the greater truths of this world everything else becomes just a hobby or a pass time of not real value. So to me, Saying that "(circassian identity) is as much important as my religious identity" is just not computing with me. Coz Islam is not just a religion ... It's the truth. and there is nothing better than the truth. So even if (circassian identity) is completely erased from the planet I won't be feeling sad. I accept destiny and I know truth will never die. Culture is attached to land whereas Religion is not. So Hinduism for example is attached to India ... that's why it's not the truth. Imagine the Egyptians going back to celebrate Ancient Egyptian gods just because it is cultural heritage ... History and geography are inseparable. That's why jews are so crazy about Israel ... they think religion is linked to land ... and that's what makes them the greatest murderers of all. Culture and Religion is like comparing zodiac signs and personality of people instead of looking at the messengers of God and their personalities. 1 is above the other... one is true and the other is just improvised. Either way we are nothing but like Jedis from Star Wars on this planet ... Think about humanity and forget boundaries... it's the only think that will truly set you free and can relate to anyone on this earth.
Kurban Beriyev Why would you say an insensitive and dumb comment like that ? Those people’s history is filled with heartache and tragedies at every turn, the least of which is being uprooted of their homelands and given the option to live in other countries foreign to them, so twice victimized to those those who’ve survived the exodus. By being forcibly give up their ancestral homeland and still yet assimilate into the Ottoman Empire (90%) and remained and to this day faithful to its well being and prosperity, the other option is be tossed in the sea, not rocket science is it ? What if someone was to tell you time to vacate Byzantium’s Constantinople and is not an unrealistic or unreasonable request !
Tugce Candemir Yes yes indeed, it was accidentally deleted , I’ll try to sum it up, I am American of Iraqi lineage, I did a DNA test about 3 years ago for the fun of it, nothing in the world would’ve prepared me for the results, 62% Caucasian, safe to say “Circassian” of former lands that was gobbled up by czarist Russia, i how did this happen ? This is when the 5 W’s kicked in full force (the why when what where and who) I’ve always called myself the “son of bBabylon” (still said 25% middle eastern) but 62 % ! That’s when I started to absorb a much info about the Circassian culture, just to.find out a history filled with agonizing stories, brutal, deadly, traumatic, broken families, lost lands and broken hearts, the more info I searched for, the equally MISINFORMATION and the daunting task of sorting the truth from non-truth which made matters more murky, each time I find something, there is the counter claim which seemed just as convincing rendered me in a tailspin. I know for a fact I can trace my Iraqi ancestry for at least 6 generation, so it wasn’t the 1915-16 events, nor the 1860 events with Russia, but way before and settled in northern Iraq around the villages near Mosul clearly an ottomon city, in fact Iraq was part of the Ottoman Empire till the end of WWI and only a British creation post WWI becoming a sovereign country in 1919 and admitted to the League of Nations (the forerunner of the UN) in 1932. my gg grandfather had an Ottoman citizenship,, so did everyone in today’s Iraq), my dna covered the areas of Azerbaijan, Armenia, surrounding towns and villages with heavy concentration of today’s Georgia. I’ve watched Circassian dance groups and especially the girls look exactly like my sisters, nieces, friends in fac5 my niece is a carbon copy of Kim Kardashian (with better morals of course) . I think there are like 2 major groups of Circassians, one starts with “A’ and the other “k” (Karaba*** unsure, appears that I am a descendant of the “A” letter but who knows. Thank you with the follow up and I have the bell turned on so I can watch upcoming episodes if ur still making them, either way I enjoyed this content, u make interesting vids you’re beautiful people inside and out, nothing less is expected from my distant relatives ! 😃 peace to all ✌🏾 from San Diego, California which Is located about 2.5 hour drive south of Hollywood where they make all the movies. And please do keep in touch I& possible as I’m hungry for any info I can find.
All have autonomous regions. Adygeja, Kabardino-Balkaria, etc. But as in any other country, it is difficult to take in a large number of people in one fell swoop. Also, the land that may have been inhabited by ones ancestors is very likely already inhabited by other Circassians 😶
@@realisticrealist3267 I think because of Russian's population decline, perhaps Mr. Putin may want to create a program so more people are added to the Russian population. Russia is very uncrowded and the newcomers with their skills can help to develop Russia while they get to enjoy their ancestral roots.
Wow I can't believe you only have 400 subscribers! Great video! Very entertaining and informative and also very professional. Great filming and editing!
@@TugceCandemir no problem. You should interview a Mexican person 😃 I'm Mexican American and I went to Turkey, liked it a lot. One thing I thought was cool was it felt like Mexico but with Muslims. The food is delicious, the people are friendly and Istanbul and Izmir look great. I hope to see the towns/villages and other places in your country. 🇲🇽🇹🇷😃💃🍾⚘🌹🌮🌯
Can you interview some Ossetians in Turkey please. Specifically the Ossetians who have lived in Turkey for several generations and are familiar with their Ossetian culture too.
Until 1921 Çerkes Ethem and thousands of circassians with him have bravely fought the invading Greeks. After the establishment of the Turkish Republic, İnönü and freemasonic-Sabetaist Ittihat Terakki, had discarded them in order to 'not to share any power with anyone else', and they had falsely labeled them as; 'traitors!' The men, Bislan Jalouqa mentions here 14:01 possibly are those brave cherkess men who had to migrate to Jordan, in order to save their lives!
The people of modern day Turkey have not been Turks before they got colonized and their language and religion changed. That's why they have such different dishes 🌯🥙🍲
It's not related to the topic, but I have a question. What silver coins were used by Circassians in the Caucasus in year 1700 or 1500 or earlier? I want to see their pictures if possible.
Many say Jordanians are the nicest and most wonderful ppl, it’s the most stable and conflict free country in the Middle East ! Wonder if Rislan’s parents speak Arabic fluently, surely Rislan does !
@@genesis2936 LOL thanks for that assessment, I'm sure everyone really appreciates some dweeb on the internet judging this man's vocabulary and grammar.
@@genesis2936 Nothing you said is particularly impressive and the fact that you felt like you needed to give your life story in the RU-vid comments implies uber insecurity issues. Keep trying.
0:57. That photo is so western it's amazing. It seems a lot of the near east was open to western ways but rapidly vanished in favor of cult like beliefs. Those two could be mistaken for some californian hippies from the 70's. What happened? They're beautiful
The interviewer and interviewee are also both attractive but his parents look like they belong in hollywood. He looks like a young burt reynolds and she a young cher.
Yeah the photo is so western! You may be right about the western effect, that’s an interesting point. Thanks for the information about Cher, I didn’t know that!
gupse özay is not a circassian and she is not a person who man can be proud of , we would like if those circassians who goes out on the media if they do say what is wrong and what is right instead of talking about psehalve
