Swimming with the Manatees has always been on our bucket list, not sure why, cause it wasn't the most epic adventure we've ever done. Waking up at 5am and laying in frigid water for an hour+ doesn't sound like fun...but it was worth every penny and every minute of our time.
If you find yourself in Crystal River, FL or anywhere you're allowed to swim with the manatees you should totally DO IT!

Great video, thanks. Since living in Orlando, I've done this several times now and yes, I got up at O' dark thirty too. The last time I rented kayaks at Crystal River allowing us to go up into the Three Sisters Springs beyond where the boats can go since its gated with large pylons. Doing so, you get up where the water is bathtub clear and typically more manatees. There are usually fewer folks up there too. The best thing was we didn't get into the water till around 9-10 AM and there were still plenty of manatees. The wife and I were able to snorkel with them for several hours. In the end, it was less expensive than going through the tour operators. Sidebar: The wife and I love your videos and appreciate the time you guys put into making them a quality presentation. You certainly set the bar high!

Great to see you are in Tampa Area and got to see the Manatees. I did in the spring last year and there were only a few Manatees left in Crystal River - most got back to the ocean when the ocean warms up enough. Welcome to Tampa. I'm off to Miami to cruise aboard the NCL Epic to Jamaica. Key West is nice this time of year - but crowded.

I guess if I were a Manatee and had to awaken every 15 minutes for a breath of fresh air I would sleep for half the day too. I am enjoying your videos. The videography is excellent as are your on air personalities. You also do a great job balancing the RV information with excellent sight seeing and other interesting tidbits of information. Who needs to pay for cable with such excellent and clean fun on You Tube?

One of the most amazing experiences of my life! As I child I watched a documentary on manatees and knew one day I would swim with them and I FINALLY made my dream come true last year!

so inspirational. I've QUIT my job of to live a dream of travelling round the world alone, and I set off SOON. So excited, will be documenting my experiences on RU-vid. I spent 1700$ on A new camera (Samsung NX1) also being only 21 years old im a young traveler and im just a regular guy pulling over what many wants to do but don't . everyone can make it happen!

Cute video! I bet they're still because they're cold. We have Manatees here in our backyard/dock. Sweet animals, we have one that drops by & it coo's like a baby. Fun adventure! Good job y'all, it's hard to jump in cold water so early :) brrrrr!

At Blue Springs you can't swim with Manatees but you can certainly see them up close in the clear waters for only the price of admission to the state park. You can camp overnight there or just go for a picnic lunch & spend the day.

I see you've not gone to the North Shore of Lake Superior.Lots of State Parks and The bike trails are Great! The whole loop around Lake Superior is Beautiful.

That is so awesome. We went later in the day and yeah you couldn't see them the water was so murky, but you knew when they hit you :):) Have you ever swam with the whale sharks. Thats pretty fun also. But again, you need to go bright and early not late like we did. I see a pattern with us :(:(

Yes that water had to be cold. If you're still in Florida look up "Ichetucknee Springs State Park", its near the top middle of Florida. Awesome spring fed river tubing running through an ancient old growth forest, so popular some summer weekends it reaches capacity by noon. Waters cold though, I wouldnt steer ya wrong.

Xel-Ha in Cancun, Mexico is wonderful the water is warm and you can swim during the middle of the day. We loved it, but I hear that captivity is not good for these animals. The green algae is an indication that they are not swimming enough to be healthy.

usually it's 2am & I'm drunk before I swim with a fat cow :) JK Just be glad yall didn't molest them in any way. The FWC here is really cranky about riding on there backs & stuff.
