@@cgaviator I'd like to ask you something: I put the oxygen switch to on, but before I take off I got a message warning about seat and oxy. Do you know why it happens?

@@caiquealencar1688 probably because there’s a rear seat. I can’t remember which, but on the right MFD you can set it to either not have a rear seat, or switch rear seat oxy on. It’s been a while. But it’s something like that.

​@@cgaviator Man, I ended up solving the problem. It's really on the right MFD. There's a line written something about oxygen in the second page of "inst" and you gotta switch it to "inhibit" and also in the first page of "inst" you gotta click on A.I take off and so a "safety pin" is taken out of the seat and put on the left side of the cockpit near the canopy and the plane automatically set a lot of features for take off and thus you get rid of these two warning messages. (sorry for bad english, I'm from Brazil, not my native language)

I live on the Swiss border and have been able to watch and especially hear the PC21 during training flights over the Appenzell Alps. Very impressive what is possible with a turboprop and how close you are to jet flying

@@cgaviator The PC-21 is so fast that it is hard to get every detail of the scenery loaded in time. The complexity of the FSX IRIS PC-21 was extremely Hardware hungry, I hope this one runs smoother.

It’ll get there. Flap drag is a fairly simple tweak. The guys are doing a great job of testing and adjusting 👍🏻

Interesting, I’ll check it out/feed it back to the developer. That would be a nice touch if it was. Or it could easily be added later.

Just to let you know that the Airbrake does not retract with the conditions mentioned by Nathan in the actual PC-21. Great video and the PC-21 does look good.

Sound is excellent! Flight model is good in so far as the sim is well setup for straight wing propeller flight. With the TAD (Trim Aid) very little/no rudder is required to balance the aircraft so it’ll be different to the Kodiak. They’re still refining the extremities of the flight dynamics and once they’ve done that, I’ll throw it around for some more aeros!

Flight models on the jets are very hit and miss. At the moment the M346 is good above 200kt. But MSFS implementation of flight dynamics mean that anything high alpha/stall/spin is dreadful. MSFS is better at straight wing, propellor flight so the PC21 is nice through most flight regimes. Still needs some tweaking for rudder and drag but it’s close.

@@cgaviator Thanks Chris, I think I'll go for the PC-21 first and likely pick up the M346 after Christmas.

I haven’t tried it… but I can almost guarantee this will be much better is all respects!

Haha! Tough choice! Jet or Turboprop decision has to be down to preferred flying style/speed requirements. And I’d go with the M346 over Hawk at the moment. More avionics and much easier to trim!

@@cgaviator I had to come back to this comment because I'm once again looking at the Hawk. When you say more avionics, do you just mean glass vs analog? I'm a fan of the analog cockpit! I enjoyed the DCS Hawk (as much as was possible on a WIP) until the project was cancelled. What is your take on the Just Flight Hawk today, not in comparison to anything else, but just AS a Hawk? Also it's a good thing I came back, I hadn't hit the like button 😆

@@bobbyrutz9402 more avionics, yeah, I meant GPS/INS, moving map etc. I do like analogue also! But I’m coming around lol! Hawk is a great product, just the flight dynamics let it down currently. It’s generally accurate in performance, but it’s too unstable in yaw and every military jet in MSFS suffers crazy stall/spin dynamics.

Yes, I believe it will be in marketplace eventually. And no, it doesn’t matter.

Trim wheel!? If that’s it, it’s a button on the stick. You’ll need to assign a key or button to pitch trim to use it properly.

I’ve only tried XP12 out briefly and haven’t tried it for any meaningful time. It really depends on what your priorities are. While I find the flight dynamics and some of the advanced avionics implementation poor in MSFS, the fact that the whole world is rendered to a very believable level makes the flying more fun for me. But for someone who wants more refinement in flight dynamics and isn’t bothered by the lower quality scenery, XP is the answer. Hope that helps?

If I remember correctly, it is a free turbine as opposed to fixed shaft, and they tend/don’t use reverse pitch. I could be wrong of course! 😅

They’ve not update the Hawk with the changing sim updates hence it has gotten wobbly. It was always hard to trim which is a real shame. The M346 is where it’s at for me at the moment in terms of jet. But this will be awesome for those who want a little more manoeuvrability even if it’s a little slower.

@@fuzzywun stability of the m346 is ok, as always with MSFS, it’s the flight dynamics close to the stall that always suck. But that’s not the fault of the developer. That’s an MSFS thing

@@cgaviator Will buy M346 as soon as my Warthog is back from repair, and damn it, I'll get the PC21 as soon as it's available. Once you go down the FlightSim rabbit hole the expense never stops....🤣🤣. Also waiting on purchase of Track IR and elgato stream deck.

This is a much higher fidelity model and much needed in MSFS

I’ve done a few with the Hawk and one really old video with the IRIS Tutor in terms of aerobatics

@@cgaviator the reason I asked is I'm a lazy old git and don't really dive into instrument procedures much,tending to do it by the old seat of the pants technique.I don't really understand the physicallity of it,I can do a loop or a roll ok but its really a hit and miss sort of thing...............................

I remember there were issue with the HUD hence you could switch to F18 HUD. Ghosting and temporal AA? All over my head I’m afraid.

@@cgaviator Temporal AA (known as TAA) is a common technique used in games to smooth edges of objects, so that edges aren't rough/jagged/pixelated. TAA works by accumulating information from previous frames. It's somewhat effective in smoothing those rough edges of moving objects, but the problem is most implementations of this technique result in blurry visuals and ghosting. By "ghosting" I mean (for example) when a number "1" becomes a "2" in the planes' digital display, you can still see the "1" gradually disappearing while "2" is already there. For indicators that change everytime (like PC-21's Fuel Flow, for example....), it's a mess, and values might be unreadable (specially at a distance). In general, TAA implementation in MSFS is actually very good if comparated to other games, but IRIS SIMULATIONS somewhat found a way to bring it's side effects to this plane. All other planes I've tried have crisp displays, except this one. I think they may be using some custom anti-aliasing solution in this plane. But on the other hand, their Prepar3D model is very crisp. Anyway, I've contacted IRIS support, and I'm waiting for a reply. About the HUD issue, I'm not aware. I hadn't see anything about this plane in MSFS until yesterday. But it seems like the HUD and MCDU are the only ones free from TAA artifacts (at least by now). Note: I'm not a game developer, so technical information about TAA above might not be 100% accurate.

@@cgaviator Yes, here the army uses them a lot for the training of pilots, often on the Alps but also in the plain where they perform acrobatics. It's an airplane that you can hear from very far away, its engine is like a turbine.

I could have removed them using the INST page I think, but then I’d still have to have the batteries on which would still be odd. I’ll ask the dev to see what’s possible. Clicking them away would be the best option but I guess it’s tricky to program.

Easy fix, we'll set the tags based on pilot and instructor weight. If they're zeroed out, the covers will be removed. :) Thanks for the suggestion!
