When I carve tiny faces, one cut may result in a great new expression or ruin my work. That's why I carve with caution and use harder wood.
In the video, I used birch and you can see the block is 70 mm in height and 25 mm in diameter. This simple project brought me a lot of joy and inspired me to use these wooden figures for playing chess. About my knife:
For wood carving, I used my regular whittling knife which I made myself; the blade length is 40 mm, and the overall length of the knife is 130 mm.
