Those guitars are different versions. The broken one is Desert Flame Burst, the replacement is Faded Tobacco Flame. Both great finishes, but I prefer the latter myself. Great playing.
yeah! Loving the "normal" stuff. Lemuel isn't one of those RU-vidrs who think they are a TV presenter in love with themselves and the sound of their own voices. Ace geezer.
Great licks! I'm very happy to hear that Thomann made it right for you. I ordered 2 HB SC-Customs (one with active pickups, the other with passive pickups and floyd rose) from Thomann this year, both were b-stocks. I was surprised when they showed up, I literally can't find a flaw on them. Liked and subscribed. :)
Wow great choice of guitars, not sure I'm brave enough to order anymore B stocks from HB, but then again they will always do right by the customers. Cheers for your comments much appreciated 👍
Just discovered Your channel as I 'm like yourself in search of a budget LP style guitar, so glad about the happy ending!!!! a fresh new french subscriber ;)
Love HB guitars. They’re left handed friendly! Bought 4 last year (2022). One of them is the SC-550LH II PAF. It has the zebra Tesla pups. I literally got it out today to swap out the generic Tune-o-matic bridge and tailpiece to a TonPros. And I also didn’t care for the stock tuners so I swapped those out to some Grovers. Love the sound. The fit/finish. The neck feels amazing to the hand. Glad your experience was a positive resolution! Thomann seem to be becoming an increasingly popular music purchase resource here in the states. Also enjoyed your blues playing! Cheers! 🎸👊😎
Kind of strange, I remember when Thomann was this new little German online shop that had cheap headphones and guitars, but who would ever buy a guitar without trying it first. Bit back then 300€ guitars sucked. 500-700 started yielding some good axes but these days... leaves some cash for pickups and hardware... I think I'll get two eventually, one with PAFs and one with P90s. I have an LTP that has Seymour Duncan PAFs and the sound is just so great. And it's by far my best built guitar (Unlike the Gibson and the Epis, as much as I love them). And apparently HB and LTD share a factory, mine's from there and it's just gorgeous. Besides a special issue Epiphone it by far the best built, no flaws at all (EC401VF maple top with red accents). Would be cool to have another two LPs for the price of an Epiphone and a mini Plexi on top compared to a Gibson...
I know I'm late to this neck fixing party, but I hope you have shot some glue in there and sanded that neck down to bear wood. Then rub tung oil on the neck. And your crying the blues with that BEAUTIFUL LP !! Cause it is Stunning as you have said. A FSN from Alabama!!! I got them broke neck blues😅!! Keep filming as I'll be checking in on ya mate!!! Be Blessed my friend!!
I just bought the exact same HB-SC550 II Stock-B, same colour ... the guitar sounds great and it is beautiful... but it has a problem on the nut, it is very high and does not sit straight on the neck, leaving enough space to fit a thin pick between the neck and the nut. I spoke with Thomann, sent them pictures and a video, they asked me to send it back and they will be sending me a replacement guitar soon :)
Nice one, I was interested to hear how they dealt with the problem with your lovely guitar. That’s a good advert for Thomann, they ought to sponsor you! Nice playing man. Sub’ed.
There are hundreds of videos here on RU-vid showing neck repairs on Fixed neck guitars, especially Gibsons becouse of the very vulnerable headstock angle. I can't recall any of them gouging out the crack to do the repair. They sometimes remove loose fibers to get a better fit and even on disaster breaks they will usually try to glue it as is first before subsequently routing out for splines. I hope you didn't try epoxy but went for a more traditional wood glue as epoxy is a once only effort. Clamping is also difficult but the accepted method appears to be elastic surgical tubing as it gives the best large area clamping capacity. As this vid is 7 months old I assume it's hopefully all done and dusted and worked out well.
I'm waiting for your video on the SC450 plus with the push/ pull pickup . I ordered one that was new, but it was a B-stock . The pick guard had wear where some used a heavy pick . I waited 2 weeks for this guitar , because it was out of stock . Sorry I had to send it back . Bro I enjoy your backing tracks of blues playing . 😎👍🏽
Dont know if you are still making videos but would be keen to see how you get on filling the cracks, thats one of the prettiest tops ive seen on an HB. Nice playing btw
Gorgeous tops especially the first one ,shame about the fault it came with hats off to Thomann for sending you another [perfect ]guitar .I just ordered the SC Custom plus mainly because of the beautiful top [Trans Brown Flame] but also because it comes with locking Schaller tuners Arrives thurs .cant wait!Great playing btw HB should endorse you and keep sending free guitars .
great playing your a cool cat and you have a nice collection going to ! harley bentons are great guitars i recommend there dc jr p90 les paul jr in yellow, it’s my favorite guitar i own . and i own an amarican strat my dad gave me it’s a cbs era but still a fender american strat . the harley benton is every bit as good
Gorgeous guitars, especially the cracked one. Since the strings are pulling on the headstock, it might well stay in place forever and function normally, as long as it is not bumped into things. I guess I wouldn't do anything to it.
@@lem432 Should you want real professional advice on the matter, this guy knows someone in the UK who would know: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eFtzq52uFqY.html
@@lem432 rather than wait for the neck to break off..i would take some very thin super glue and let it soak into the crack reinforcing it..if the crack is not too wide it could fill the gap and make it stronger than before..that will be a lot cheaper than having a luthier glue it back on..
@@mikkosutube Yeah I was thinking along the same line, you can get thin Super glue with the those micro thin applicators that make getting it into thin cracks very easy, I don't think it would even need clamping either.
I subscribed after hearing you play at the end! I have thought about a Harley Benton myself, but am unsure if I would have to pay import duty into the UK as we are no longer in the EU. Can you advise? Thanks.
No import duty presently, they do add £10 postage if you buy something up to £140 or thereabouts, very reasonable and good people to buy from generally.
With Gibson you are paying for the name and western labour costs, budget HB guitars have gone from strength to strength just lately and the difference between them and high end big name models is narrowing, I have a HB SC-Custom MKI (white) with Fishman Fluence pickups in it and it sounds awesome, the original Wilkinson pickups were good but I heard the Fluence pickups in a friends Eastman LP copy and I new straight away I wanted some
@@lem432 it's really nice to hear back from you. I have dabbled with guitars electric but I'm not getting any younger I love two write 63 now in June 64 I really have my sights on a Epiphone that I can afford LoL do you give lessons or have any tips for me from what little that I've heard you play I like your style please have a groovy day stay healthy and safe my friend.
