Loved this video. I find it quite a treat whenever childhood stories are told, sharing the memories of watching cartoons, reading comics, and playing with toys.
I too grew up watching Godzilla on TV. In the late 70's, Saturday morning was the HB Godzilla Power Hour and afterwards, a local UHF station out of New Orleans would show "Godzilla Theater." I would sit my Shogun Warriors Godzilla next to me as we would watch the show together. The end of the day would be Doctor Who on PBS. These shows cemented my love of simple, yet creative story telling. Just a great time to be a kid. Great review! I still have my Shogun Warriors Godzilla. He is just a beautiful toy that holds so many memories for me.
Ahhh Godzilla! Love the big green fella ever since I was 5 ❤ Amazing that some companies have made tangible figs of the Marvel comics and Hanna Barbera Godzilla 🤩 Love hearing your memories as a kid 😊👍
Loving the story about the random movies they'd show the kids! Double Creature Feature sounds like you saw arguably the greatest films ever made. I don't think I've ever seen Creature from the Black Lagoon; got to remedy this...
Enjoyed this video a lot. Especially the intro telling us your road to your first encounter with Godzilla. Really like the Marvel Godzilla tho really charmed by the Hanna Barbera Cartoon Godzilla too. A greet set of these three for sure👍🦖
I am thankful for Trendmaster going absolutely bananas in 1994 with their King of the Monster line. I had some great Godzilla toys to play with as I watched classic Godzilla movies, probably on TNT. Oddly enough, no tv channels in my area in 1994 were playing the recent Godzilla films (Mothra, Mechagodzilla II, SpaceGodzilla) so I had to wait and watch those when I was older.
The Heisei era films were never shown on TV in the US. I had to purchase bootleg DVDs back then to watch them. They finally got official home media releases around the time that the 98 Godzilla was in theaters.
great vid goji. didmyou hear about the new dollar tree line "adventure squad"? seems like a kind of replacement for final faction. think rescue heroes but every character is a cyborg.
i love Godzilla, but WHAT was that thing with the Godzilla title in 1999? that was NOT Godzilla. That was a messed-Up mash-up with Jurassic Park. I think they were pandering to BOTH crowds, and snagging neither the Godzilla fans nor the Jurassic Park fans.
Roland Emmerich was not a fan of Godzilla films, he said that he wanted to make a disaster film which was the wrong approach. The baby Godzilla's were definitely ripping off the JP raptors. Silver lining, the Fox Kids cartoon that spun out of the movie was really good.
