Hoovie has a rare talent and reminds me of a young Jerry Lewis especially the hitting a golf ball on the roof of the Jack Nicklaus edition Lincoln Town car it is still my favorite Hoovie video!!!!
No...this guy is a fLLLLLng cllllnt...he is bullying his grandma for the LOLs of us M***unts watching this...the millennial little botch Hoovie seems to think grandma doesn't know what he's doing...she seems to. Bless this guy.
Hey Hoovie, was scrolling your videos as usual and came across this old gem, I know your grand mother is no longer with you in person but she must be so proud of all your achievements. Keep up the good work and god bless your grandma
Saw this video many times. That part with your grandma makes me emotional everytime. It shows the bond u had with her. I rarely comment on youtube but this time i had to. Came today(25 april 2020) to pay her respects after your insta post. RIP grandma!! Stay strong hoovie.
*That bit with your grandma at the end was sweet! wish mine were still around for moments like this. Appreciate your grand parents while you still have them people! if you don't you'll blink one day when you least expect it and they are gone and all you're left with is regrets that you can do nothing about*
He's way better than Doug this guy is informative and has a style of presenting while Doug has an awkward way of presenting by telling stupid jokes or just nags about something.
Your grandma reminds me so much of my mother that I lost a couple years ago. She was 89. I miss her dearly. Your video brought tears to my eyes! So glad you spend time with your grandma. People don't realize how important that is! It gets lonely in old age as friends and family pass on.
RIP grandma...tyler's love and affection for you is oozing out of him in the video and makes me want to go into the next room and to give my 82year old grandma a hug
This brought a tear to my eye. I used to kid around with my Grand Mom the same till a couple years ago when we lost her. Enjoy your time with that lovely lady..and the car!
They are classics absolutely gorgeous to look at and drive that V8 was so smooth in both the way it ran and the way the torque came on. Works of art those cars are.
I’ve watched a lot of your videos Tyler and always found you entertaining but my respect for you has grown immensely after seeing how much time you have for grand mother. Keep up the good work👍🏻
I guess I'm kinda of late to the party and just catching up on your videos. I am enjoying them tremendously and appreciate all your hard work, enthusiasm, and insight. I love what you're putting out there. I had to comment on this video because of your adorable grandmother. It's clear to see what a lovely relationship you two have. You can tell a lot about person by how he treats the older folks in their lives. More than anything you've done, this really impressed me. Looking at the comments below, it's obvious she has quite the fan base already. Keep up the good work, and thank you.
What an entertaining video, it prooves that you don't really need expensive gear to make nice videos. Sad to hear your grandma has past away, but the memories live on I guess. All the best from the Netherlands. Love your channel, I'm binge watching it right now.
I've been watching your videos for a couple weeks now, and this is the first time I've been jealous of another man's actions on RU-vid. I'm jealous, not for the car you've inherited, but because you get to share moments like this with your grandmother. I wish I could share moments like this with my grandmother in my grandfather's Mercedes, but they've both passed. give your grandma a hug for us all, she's adorable!
You have an incredible knack for making facts about cars of the past sound genuinely entertaining whilst having some humor often at your own expense thrown in and now you have an adorable grandma? Ok enough said. Subbed!
I rarely comment on videos but I loved this one. When you and your grandma started singing Sinatra, I teared up. Made me miss my nana. You got your like and a new subscriber. Hope your grandma is doing well.
If you want a beast Benz from that era buy a 1986-89 560SL (V8 5.6 liter) and install Euro lights and Euro bumpers. Leave everything else stock (except perhaps the turd brake light on the trunk of the 86/87 years). Beast of an engine, ABS brakes, airbags, central locking etc with the cool chassis designed in the late 60s.
Michael Broski I agree,The 500SL is a far nicer car to drive than the 560, the supension is SO much better, and faster to boot, this is why I own the 500, not a 560.
Super cool video and memory with your grandmother. From the elastic fail in her waistband story to car karaoke with her...priceless! Wish I could have that opportunity again with my grandmother.
It’s really great to see that you enjoy your Nanna’s company. I know a lot of people that just place theirs in the home and that’s it. Cherish every moment mate. God bless.
Hoovie! I’m buying a 1982 380SL and was going through RU-vid looking for videos. Stumbled upon this gem. Hope all is well. I still get to watch your newest videos when I have down time. Looks like you and grandma had fun together
+Di Santos Various members of the Ewing family had SLs, but mostly they were '86-on facelift cars with the flat face alloys, Despite that, they're really good cars and getting to be worth a serious amount of money in Europe. It's only a matter of time before the values start going up in the US so if you want one get a good one now before the prices go into phone number territory...
gosportjamie yes BUT Bobby had a red 450sl 1980 in the 3rd or 4th season and even bfr that they had SLs. JR always had Sclass. I dated his granddaughter for a year in 2002!! She was very young and her father Preston(larry Hagmans son) called me and asked me to stay away from his daughter. We snuck around for another year! She idolized her grandfather. I NVR got to meet him sadly.
I would rather drive that car,on Wast coast Highway 101,than in Europe. Yes,for the most of the time, you can drive faster in Europe but it's usually very crowded.(And if you think that fuel is expensive in North America,...)
wow...didnt think id have tears running down my face from this video. damn, I miss my grandmother.. hug your grandmother, hug her tight since i cant anymore
Wait, so I'm confused. You said that your grandma had the 500SL imported through the grey market in the '80s, but then all the pictures show it to have the U.S.-spec headlights.
Having owned several grey market Mercedes from the 70's and 80's the headlights were swapped with U.S. spec versions when imported. Also in many cases the park bench bumpers were also added. Though some importers were able to get away with welding a reinforcement plate onto the back of the european spec bumpers. Catalytic converters were also installed for post 1974 models as well on grey market cars when imported. What throws me off is the U.S. spec MB Tex interior instead of the velour upholstery. I believe it was an option on european models but very rare.
The pictures you should from your bowl cut days, shows a different MB. the lights are different, and the bumper is different and it's missing the square orange lights on the front, and the rims are different. In fact the one in the pictures looks like the 1983 SL you said was/is horrible. hmmmmm.... But you did do a great job on the video.
It has the skinny bumpers in those old photos. The car was federalized by adding us-spec headlamps, which I reversed a few years ago. I added some period correct AMG bits later like the lower valence, which might make you think the bumpers are different.
I remember those cars when they were new. I thought they were the coolest thing ever! And you're a good guy for taking your grandmother out and singing to her! (Also not a bad singer!)
Cherish grandma, write down her stories, family history and recipes. My grandma just passed away unexpectedly, and while I had visited her that day, there is so much I wish I could have done.
Your GMA is so sweet. Made me smile. Made her smile to see you singing Sinatra. Which, in turn made me smile. It was nice of you to show her off! Thank you for being a good grandson.
Your really Awesome, picking up your Grandma and hanging out, or just seeing to her. I miss my grandma. Love your presentations, you have a Great warm character. Very alluring.
