During the summer of 2017, the Pacific Vapeur Club (PVC) of Sotteville-les-Rouen, hired ex-SNCF pacific 231K8 for some mainline excursions, visiting Le Havre and Dieppe. I traveled on the trip to the seaside town of Dieppe on Saturday 9 Aug. With no turning facilities available in Dieppe the return to Sotteville was made tender-first. Despite the poor unseasonably cool weather, it was an enjoyable day.

watched another video of 231K8 and there were FIVE on the footplate excluding the cameraman. on a run from Le Trilport. Ground to a halt in a cloud of smoke [and no steam] Too many cooks etc?? Nice to see the loco running- I bet the crew were wet coming back.Just a typical day at the seaside!

Great footage. Thanks for uploading. Around 18:00-19:00 weeds growing between the rails and on the platforms at Dieppe station? I haven't seen that in UK, and we are supposed to have underinvestment!

It could be partially because the EU has restricted glyphosate, a powerful herbicide that is controversial because it can be quite toxic to a variety of lifeforms, including humans and insects. I do not think the UK currently has any such restriction, yet.
