A taste of the traditional Black Forest cake | DW English 

I've been searching for months to get the authentic German blackforest cake recipe. Here in India where we live I have to be satisfied with cherry syrup. The cherries we get here is small and glazed. Thank you, for this recipe.

Gateaux is French. I heard it was originally a tart: Schwartzwaldkirschtorte.

I did not know the black forest cake has it's origin in Germany!!!! I have tasted the Australian made version but as a small slice at a cafe with coffee. But I like the black forest cake that the man made at his Restaurant, looks much better on DW!!!!!

I followed all the instructions step by step the ingredients the amounts very very carefully but instead of a cake I got brownies 🤣

Also, watching Brits say, "gateaux", for literally no reason is hilarious. In Canada we just call it "cake" and we're bilingual. haha

0:43 It's disappointingly pale. I feel like here in Canada the cake is more chocolatey. This is almost the colour of red velvet cake.
