:-):-):-) And there should be a revival of belcanto singing technique, especially for lirical tenors (tenori di grazia), I think. Today there is a kind of monoculture in the lanscape of singing. The main concern of singers seems to be shere volume and it seems that most singers want to model their voices into that of a spinto or dranatic tenor, even though the voice is a lirical one. There should be more emphasis on the strong side of a lirical voice, weich is agility and beauty. Lirical singers should stick to a repertoire befitting their voices, like for instance the great Ferrucio Tagliavini. Volume is not everything. I for one could not imagine MDM singing the Conte Almaviva....
