A digital story about the journey my Mother took as a Ten Pound Pom, when she emigrated from England to Australia in 1969.
Can be used as a springboard for the Primary School classroom, in the studies of Historical Recounts (English) and stories of migration and family history (History). Students can engage with global connections through stories of various migrant groups and their contribution to Australia's economic and social development. They examine sources to identify and describe points of view. Based from this, students can develop their own texts, particularly narratives and historical recounts.
