An almost tornado like wind and hail storm hit our farm today around 3-4pm. The hail was the size of a quarter. We sadly lost almost 100 chickens and this storm came fast and without warning. I watched helpless from one our brooders as my young chickens caught in the storm were being pelted to death. I tried to reach out while it hailed to save some of them but the hail was to big and too dangerous.
Sadly & thankfully there was a client and his wife caught in the storm (I'm so happy they were unharmed) and they helped me save many of our young chickens, I probably would have lost more today if he hadn't help me rescue chickens that were drowning in the flash flood.
Alexa was safe inside the house when the storm hit, Ethan & Aubrey were far away safe at daycare where the power didn't go off and the wind wasn't as bad. Our husky was inside our home as we're our cats.
