Darnell had ill intentions towards Brandi, no matter how many times she brushed him off, turned him down, flat out said no, I’m not interested or looking for a relationship etc. His Karma was an super-sized serving of Brandi and I’m not mad about it. Like you said, if he wasn’t so concerned about claiming her as a win, he would have noticed the lights are on in the mall, but nobody shopping cuz the clothes are out of style. People like Brandi exist more than you realize as sad as it is, treat people with respect and kindness and you end up with a gun pointed at your dick or a brick in your windshield lol.
I always felt bad for Brandy in this film cause she was a abused woman who husband also cheated on her, and Darnell in a way was very predatorial towards her and as soon as he got what he wanted just completly cut her off. He was the one with the hole in his heart.
This is why you shouldn’t play with other people’s feelings. Not saying that what Brandi did was right but Darnell wouldn’t have learned his lesson otherwise. 🤷🏾♀️
Nah Brandi (women in general) should learn how to control her emotions! Don't make it right, but she knew Darnell was macking her ass!!! Victim, my ass...
@@petepaylor5657 bruh so you’re justifying darnells behavior. Brandi had every right to go at darnell like that, but you know the saying hurt people hurt people.
That man spent the whole movie bragging about buying Chocolate City when he was only upgrading from employee to Jr partner.🥴 Meanwhile Brandi was ready to buy him his own club in any city he wanted where he would be the sole owner.🤦 All he had to do was be good to her.
Men being stupid. This happened to me with my recent guy except I ain’t rich 😂 but this dude chased me for yearssss I finally gave in and we dated for 6 months I fell for him and would’ve did THE MOST for him I wanted to take him out all the time I wanted to cook for him anything he wanted I was gunna be there for him… idiot ended up leaving me for a chick with 3 baby daddies and no job only uses him to support her children 😭😭 now my whole vibes changed toward men if they don’t have money for me then leave me tf alone
@@TheControlledOpposition I just saw your picture and damn he cheated on you for a chick with 3 baby daddies? Ain't no way.😂 It's niggas like that fuck it up for men like me.
This movie is BEYOND underrated! Unpopular opinion: I think this was one of Martin Lawrence’s hidden gems and Lynn Whitfield ate this role up! Can we also talk about how FIRE the soundtrack was?
Yup! After watching this movie as a grown ass women I realized who was the REAL victim! That beautiful woman was minding her own business before he started playing games!
This is one of those movies where my viewpoint hasn't changed watching this as an adult. Even a blind man could see that Darnell wasn't shit. Her getting him in front of the police station was a boss move though. He should've feared for his life then because clearly, she was "never scared".
I hate that people blamed Bobby for stuff when it came down to Whitney. Like she had been doing drugs long before she met him. People act like Whitney was this quiet, innocent flower...like hello, homegirl grew up in Newark...all in the projects...she was about that life.
I just feel like we shouldn’t judge ppl based of if where they live especially if they lived in poverty We cant choose our family or our income no matter how much we want too
A Thin Line Between Love and Hate is the darker version of Boomerang. Funny because Martin Lawrence was also in that film. I definitely agree that both Darnell and Brandi had issues and I’m not understanding how they were compatible 😭.
Darnell definitely needed to be taught a lesson and I get why Brandy did what she did. I have been in Brandy’s shoes and I’m grateful that I’ve never even attempted to take it that far, but I understand. Lol
Darnell was wrong to string Brandi along the way that he did. He should have listened to her when she said that "it would not be good" for her to be hurt again. He most definitely should have listened to her when she said that she killed her husband. That right there is what is commonly referred to as a "red flag." Darnell should have paid close attention to the red flags. His mother said, "Your ways are going to catch up with you." She also said, "A night full of passion can lead into a lifetime of pain." Mama knows best! Darnell should have heeded the warnings. Warning goes before destruction and that warning is not always verbal, but life itself is that warning.
Darnell was the biggest idiot in the entire movie. Mia didn’t deserve him, she deserved better than his ass. It was so hilarious how you blinked your eye showing how crazy Brandi was. I still love this movie till this day. I also caught that some of the scenes had Martin with his eye looking red like he had allergies 😂. Great review You sang the wrong H town song. That was the song from Above the Rim. You meant the song named after the movie 😂😂😂.
Word on the streets is that Whitney was so happy for Bobby when he booked this role. According to Lipstick Alley, BOBBY WAS ON SET ON TIME, EVERY MORNING. Whitney made sure of it. 😂
@@marzblaq7267 Supposedly Brandi and Darnell had a kid together and she becomes similar to Darnell and her mom tries to warn her about going down that path and that Brandi is on house arrest after she gets out of prison/mental institution (This was mentioned by Martin and Lynn on bet but it seemed like Martin was being funny and nonchalant)
Brandi was very much a victim, but she definitely got revenge on Darnell as she rightfully should. Also, Regina's character, Mia was nuts for sticking with Darnell in the end, even after all the things he did. But, it's great Darnell learned a lesson about how to treat women, tho it's very sad that Brandi just went to jail. I really hope that she gets a lot of very-needed therapy while she's in jail to better herself once she's out. I wonder how many men made her, not just heartbroken hurt, but also 'love ain't supposed to hurt this much'/a thin line between love and hate' hurt, like could it be possible that it wasn't necessarily just lovers who hurt her in the past, but also maybe a loved one? Either way, I really like the message in the movie.
This is the review i have been waiting for. Thank you so much. Darnell was definitely the antagonist & deserved everything he got. Can we please get reviews on some of other Martin Lawrence’s movies such as Talking Dirty After Dark, Big Momma’s House & Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins? And can we please get a review on that other 90s womanizing movie How To Be A Player?
I didn't think I was like this movie because I couldn't imagine Martin as a leading man. But, to my surprise I enjoyed this movie. I had no compassion for Darnell. He got everything he deserved.
martin was not convincing as a ladies man. i never bought that woman would go that crazy over him which is why the movie was just okay for me. kinda ironic to me cause i never thought that way on his tv show
In real life Martin was running thru em tho...david Alan grier was saying on the set of boomerang him n Eddie were debating who slept with more women in the industry..
I'm glad somebody FINALLY put the blame on Darnell 🤷🏾♂️ instead of Brandy 🙎🏽♀️! Everyone who I've heard comment on this video took up for Darnell saying HE was the victim & that Brandy was crazy 😡 🔪! I'm like, he f🖕🏾cked with her emotions, & then when she showed him he picked with "The Right One 💥👏🏾!" then he couldn't handle it a deflects the blame onto her for the repercussions of HIS actions.
We need more movies like this ....this movie was Soo good...the acting was on point...n it gave everything...it was funny...drama...love..and more👏👏👏👏great movie pic
As many times I've watched Thin Line between Love &Hate, I NEVER realized that was Chill from House Party lol smh 🤦🏽♀️, great vid breakdown as per queen
Darnell wanted to lease, and she wanted to own. So this review is right, they are both wrong. Darnell saw her as a status symbol. I dont really remember him playing her until she got clingy though. So maybe I need to rewatch. But either way,he wasnt going to be loyal. Her clingyness just gave him an excuse
Sharing on socialedia. So glad you made this watched this so many times as a 90's kid and even then I knew Darnell did something by saying he loved Her because It felt insincere. Thanks for making this
I wonder if the many hurt and heartaches Brandi has been through with the men in her life, came from a generational trauma on her mother's side? Kinda like in the movie, "Eve's Bayou"?
LOVE YOUR REVIEWS!!! THANKS So Much For Reviewing This Movie. Your Effort and Creativity Are Not Unnoticed ......... Infinite Love To You & Everyone 💕!!!
I really hate it when men mess with women's minds like that. Brandi made it perfectly clear she wasn't interested, but he was determined to have her as another notch on his bedpost, and he expected her to accept it after he'd had his fill. And his ex-girlfriend should never have got back together with him.
I appreciate you for acknowledging that Bobby B was that dude!!! The original King, maybe not of R&B, but he was Kinging hard in the late 80s and early 90s. I was too young to be a Roni at the time but Rock Witcha did and still gets much play. But back to the movie, Darnell was so trash and deserved all the karma he got but per usual he still got his cake and ate it too. I also didn't know Martin wrote and directed this film. He was and still is an underrated genius.
I aint even bout to lie......even if i initially just wanted the draawwwlss dawg (enter tommy voice here) i wouldn't meant that i love you shit once darnell had gotten on that couch cuz you ain't lyin one bit THE FUCKING FLAGS WERE THERE! Not just that...but did you peep brandi manipulative ass cowgirl style when she told darnell the bad news? 😂👀 Brandi webs my good bitch but she damn sho aint innocent lmao knew wtf she was doing, thats why darnell took the damn news so well 😅
I thoroughly enjoyed this review! Your reaction to Bobby Brown is my EXACT reaction whenever I see Bobby on the scene. 😂😂 LuH me some Bobby. This movie is another black classic with a dope ass soundtrack. Great observation on how tired and thin Martin looked in this movie. Now we totally understand why. Them people had my guy stressed tf out. He still did a great job in this one. You knocked this one out the park. 🏆💐
Regina king was in the Air Force not the army lol. When I watch the movie now that I'm older Mia was a waste of time. Brandy was a real woman that offered him more. He could had his own club instead of begging to be a partner.
@@jurassicpark1289 You right. I see your point. I did like Mia. The only thing about Mia I didn't like is she used the Chicken guy to make Martin jealous. Brandi was crazy but she had a good heart ❤️ and was willing to open herself up to him even though he didn't deserve it. I wish a woman would take me shopping and give me a limo to go wherever I wanted. Plus back my plans to open my own business. Those were the days. Lol
