I'm not entirely sure how it completely works, but a company I purchased a product from uses it as a place to gather other users of that product to share ideas, tips and help each other.

Ive had a terrible work environment in the past and I couldn't quit. I think it's just an observation? Most people don't have the luxury of leaving their job based on keeping the work environment professional and not dragging politics into it. However, I don't personally know the entire story. Enlighten me if there is anything I don't understand. Thank you. I'm definitely willing to listen to your point of view regarding said situation. I typically feel a lot of sympathy for people who have lost their jobs, due to no fault of their own.... or if they leave it due to a toxic work environment. If it's docriminating one side over the other... I can understand (left or right). If it is trying to keep politics out of the work place in general... I have a hard time sympathizing, because it seems like a very reasonable policy.

@@simplyme7193 I responded to something similar on one these threads earlier. This situation which the article is about, I don't know the true details. My response is that it is sad there is no public social safety net system to able to financial support people when transitioning jobs. Meaning that you can't afford to quit so you must take the abuse from your employer, and they know this, and exploit this. If there was a better option out there, companies would have to raise their game and treat their employees better for fear of losing them. They currently don't have that fear because you don't have a better option. Remember, money equal only one thing, options. The less money you have, the less options you have. That's how this power structure works. It needs to be improved.

It seems the company was trying to relieve workplace tensions by removing divisiveness within. Politics leads to extreme divisiveness which doesn't belong in the workplace in the first place. There are circumstances where you can get unemployment, which is a safety net. However, circumstances have to fit a criteria (the truth is that it has to fit a criteria, because otherwise it would be abused... am I totally wrong about that? Typically if you are facing discrimination or an unsafe work place... I'm sure there are others, but I haven't seriously looked into it). Most times ive been unhappy... I've sucked it up. It sucks, but I do what I need to take care of my family. I do understand that with money you have more options. Ive been in both situations, where I had the option and also where I have not. One thing I try to live by is not reacting impulsively. Every time I've left a job, has been extremely civil. Maintaining composure... not having discussions when you are upset can improve circumstances. However, overall I do believe I have a decent work ethic and typically... several places Ive actually quit (either life circumstances changed or work environment was poor)... have worked with me to keep me or offered to. However, I never made those moves until I was in a position to do so. So, I get that as far as not being able to afford to do so. I am not completely unsympathetic. If circumstances are so poor, I definitely encourage anyone to taking steps to improve their life and circumstances. Just never let emotions dictate circumstances. It almost feels kind these people were more concerned with banding together to hurt the company. That is entirely an assumption. Based on no facts that support it... besides recognizing the number of people quitting at one time. Maybe the company deserved it? Maybe not?
