@@EricVecchiola get ur practice on sumthing smaller then but the bigger the boat often youl find it easier because youl have more power You have to start somewhere tho. You cant buy skill or experience no matter how much money you have
I remember the first time I tried to dock my Mega Yacht in a tight spot. The nerves go full alert as you just know, the slightest wrong move could end up costing you big bucks. Ok, it's a pontoon. But still, it can be a little nerve racking.
Seriously... I looked it up, they had to cut the cabin door of the cock pit just so the Captain could exit. The size of his massive iron balls wouldn't fit through the door...
It will just gently nudge the other boats over thru the bumpers, the boats float on water and move, not like vehicle parked on concrete drive..Hands up to the captain...good job keeping the vessel straight!!
@@chloemorgan3630 There is always someone there for these types of yachts, they are all charters so there is always crew at all times. And the marina itself is of course staffed also.
I find these vids fascinating,....One thing i have learnt is if the new yacht passes its docking rope through the eye of the boats ropes next door either can leave at anytime without a problem !
They all look so uncoordinated. They keep adjusting the bumpers around to their own preference. On commercial ships we all know where to set every bumper for maximum bumper action.
Great bit of sailing, it was impressive the crews on the other boats helped too (although I guess self-preservation was also at work). I guess its too many yachts not enough berths.
That’s exactly what happened towards the end. The left ship did move over to the left about 600mm to allow the blue boat to get right in. Yes they should of thought of that first.
Cost to berth 888 euros or $1081.71. (2021 rates) The most expensive berth for a 55 meter yacht is Marina Grande on Capri at 2585 euros a day, $3149.04.
Just when you think you're having some success in this world.... you see another level. Even these Yacht owners are only half way up the pyramid with their tiny yachts...
This is what I dislike about Monaco, it takes longer to dock than the trip up from the Canary Islands. I’m going to send a strongly worded letter to the Prince about this.
As a yacht owner, I blame this on the Marina management. This is inexcusable treatment and expectations to a yacht owner. Great, the crew could handle this docking, BUT there is NO Excuse for them having to dock in this poor of a condition. Imagine if there had been cross winds or another outside issue.
surely a conversation with the skipper on the left boat to ask if he can loosen his lines and move over a metre or so. or maybe they did and he didn't oblige.
That’s probably his slip he’s rented out and his neighbors happen to have there oversized yachts docked as well. Can’t have open space everywhere in the world only in the US we usually have extra room like that lol
