We have a Catalina 27 with the exact same cabin layout. The only difference I can see is we have a cutout in the transom for the outboard. I don't like that gaping hole off the stern so I'm thinking of filling it in with plywood and fiberglass. I could then mount my 9.5 mercury on a bracket and make it much easier to get at for maintenance. Do you have any thoughts or advice? Chuck Legge
