A Top Player's Thought Process During X Ranked Matches in Splatoon 2 

Yeah game sence is big in splatoon, more then other games

I can tell you that the opposite doesn’t work either I have insane mindgame but the manual part with aim and reflexes is my biggest weakness by far You need to improve both but I believe I’m a rare case 😅

I need to work on both but I definitely have better strategy than aim. I am only S rank but I’ve been noticing I struggle when it comes to executing my strategies in the heat of combat, also low rank players have McDonalds wifi and that screws with the hit detection so that’s a thing too.

If I'm spamming ouch, it's my way of calling my teammates absolute twats. Or I'm trying to get them to look at a flank incoming which eventually wipes them

I'm not X rank but I call Ouch just on reflex from Having It, ig? I only mash it if the person who got me is still pushing though, because I know I at least have trouble hearing the Ouch over the rest of the game most of the time

I say ouch when I die, and spam ouch when I’m angry. If I spam ouch the entire time I’m dead that means I’m just very mad.

I'm really good with an Aerospray because it's fast and has good coverage, which works for me, but yeah, it's awful in combat. No range, no accuracy, no power.

Thank you! I'm glad to hear so many people like it! I should mention the things I write will be pretty similar across modes. Largely because, in order to understand the important differences in each mode, we need to look at it from a much more fundamental point of view (which this video isn't really doing). Although since many people seem to enjoy it I might do it for other modes anyway. Especially for SZ and CB there will be a somewhat clear difference in the flow of the game.

They are prestige level 2 as indicated by the star on top of the level. This means they surpassed level 99, so essentially they are level 102 (or possibly 202, 302 etc... because it shows only 1 star max).

Yeah, I talk pretty much every day with people in the Splatoon community, which is all in English. When it comes to thinking, sometimes.

Sure! Someone asked this earlier, so gonna use what I wrote then. For improving awareness I recommend starting with something as simple as counting to 4. At any point in the game just try to see if you can find all the opponents, and remember you can do this at whatever pace you like. Start with something simple like doing this once after the start of the game, from there gradually take it further. Eventually you can do it while performing other activities like painting or even fighting. Additionally, it's worth noting that a lack of information, is in itself information that you can use. If you're unable to find a certain player, you can use that information to make assumptions on where they could be based on stuff like their weapon, map control, or where you last saw them. Although I should mention, there's no need to worry if you're struggling to notice these things. Awareness is something that takes time, especially if you're still in the process of understanding the mechanics of a game. It's also worth mentioning that part of this awareness comes from understanding the flow of the game, and knowing what actions an opponent could take that has impact on the game. However, this comes more from a fundamental understanding of the modes rather than purely focusing on awareness. So while you practise your awareness, I also highly recommend trying to learn how each mode fundamentally works (which is an entire topic worth discussing in itself). There's obviously a lot more to awareness too, such as avoiding tunnelling (constantly questioning your own actions to avoid falling into habits that could lower your awareness), remembering respawns using the bar on top, camerawork and more. Though I hope this already gives an idea on how to improve more.

The writing is not that hard to see, my tb usually cuts off a bit at the bottom and it was all still clearly visible when I watched it on TV
