A Total Solar Eclipse Over Waco - Escaping The Mouse - ETM-998 The wait is finally over, Solar Eclipse day is finally here. But will the weather cooperate?
Great job, Mr. Breck! I'm so glad that you had the day off, had the livestream, and I was incredibly happy to have been part of the livestream! Great video of the eclipse! Thank you, sir. I stepped outside here in Jacksonville, FL at 1505 hours, and woah, we had %64! I didn't look at the sun, but it got dark!
The telescope worked exceptionally well. Great image throughout the event. I'm so glad someone nearby was beating on their drums and the darkness relented. 😎 Great story.
I read an article about a week or two ago that said it isn't uncommon for clouds to disappear during an eclipse and we actually saw that happen. It makes sense if you think about it; clouds are caused by water vapor in the atmosphere being heated by the sun and rising. If you remove the sun (even for only 4 minutes) the cloud forming engine stalls and the clouds disappear.
I watched the live stream and then this video. You got some good shots of the eclipse. Thanks again for sharing! It was so wild when it got dark and then light again.
